So I've had this idea for quite a while now and have finally managed to create a few prototypes to ensure it actually works.. it does and I'm super excited to share!

A guest book, but make it a little more FUN… 🃏🤍

Introducing the Playing Card Guest Book, a bespoke alternative to the traditional wedding guest book, designed to become a keepsake you’ll actually want to look through again and again even after your special day!

Rather than simply having your initials or names on each card (which is definitely an option as well) why not include sketches of special parts of your day; your favourite drinks, maybe a venue sketch, your bouquet or even a furry friend? Each deck features a selection of personalised card designs, with space on the reverse for your guests to leave their messages, memories and words of wisdom.

Once your celebrations are over, simply gather them back into their personalised tuck box and keep a little deck full of memories from your day. 🥹

Designed, printed and individually handmade by me, with every deck tailored to complement your wedding.

This was the very first order and I still remember how nervous I was handing it over!

My lovely client trusted me with her vision at a time when I was still finding my feet and looking back now, I’m so so grateful that she did. This save the date card will always be a special one for me because in so many ways this is where my journey started.

I remember printing so many extras because I wanted them to be absolutely perfect, if anything was out of place it went straight into the recycling pile. (I still do this now 🤣)

It’s so lovely looking back at my first few designs and seeing how much Paper & Petals has grown since then. 🤍

Forever grateful for the couples who trusted me from the very beginning! 🫶🏽

A trend we just had to take part in 🤍

Not every piece of wedding stationery is essential... but these are the five I think are absolutely worth investing in.

1. A welcome sign
Your welcome sign is one of the very first things your guests see. It immediately sets the tone for your day and becomes a beautiful focal point as everyone arrives. It also appears in so many professional photographs throughout the day, making it something you'll look back on long after!

2. A seating plan
A thoughtfully designed seating plan doesn't just look beautiful, it helps your day run smoothly. Guests know exactly where they're going and your reception feels organised from the moment everyone enters. Also a lovely focal point for your guests and photographs!

3. Personalised menus
Menus in my opinion, are a must-have piece of décor! They instantly elevate each place setting and make your tables look complete. If you personalise them with your guests' names, they double as place cards too which are super useful but also help your guests feel that much more special and part of your day!

4.Wedding invitations
Sounds like a given but, if you can invest in good quality bespoke wedding invitations I would 100% have this at the top of your list. Your invitations are your guests' first glimpse into YOUR wedding. They build excitement, introduce your style and become a keepsake that many couples choose to treasure long after the day is over. The best part about these is you don't need to conform to a specific style or format - you can make them as unique as you like.

5. On-the-day signage
These pieces often tie everything together on your wedding day. Whether it's table numbers, place cards, gift table and guestbook signs or larger signage, having a consistent design throughout your wedding creates a beautiful and cohesive look that makes all the difference.

Of course every wedding is different, but if I were prioritising my budget, these are the pieces I'd never skip!

The Full Suite! 🍸

Rather than having two separate signs for their Welcome sign and Order of the day sign, we combined it into one large sign.

I think couples often feel overwhelmed at the thought of all the signage available for their special day. The cost can slowly creep up, but there is almost always a solution! As your stationer, and a former bride myself, I truly want to make your journey as easy and smooth as possible. So if this means combining a few elements or tweaking your design to make it easier for your guests, I am all ears!
Please just ask! 🤍

The backgrounds in some of these images have been enhanced using AI to help visualise my stationery in a realistic wedding setting. That said, all stationery designs and layouts are my own.

If I'm honest, I've been putting this post off for a while! I'm much more comfortable being behind the scenes, sketching, designing and bringing your wedding stationery ideas to life than I am being in front of the camera.

But with all the incredible growth, support and kindness that Paper & Petals by Louise has received over the last year, I thought it was finally time to properly introduce myself.

So here goes haha!
Hi, i'm Louise - the artist and designer behind every illustration, venue sketch and bespoke wedding suite.

Every design begins with a conversation, a blank canvas and is created from scratch, with the aim of telling your story through paper.

Whether you've followed my journey from the very beginning, liked a post, shared my work, trusted me with your wedding stationery, or simply stopped by to support my little business thank you. It truly means more than I can put into words!!
