From the moment of arrival, the hospitality stood out. The resort offers a complete luxury experience across its facilities, including a world-class spa and wellness centre, multiple outdoor and indoor pools and access to two 18-hole championship golf courses. The property’s design respects its historic roots while embracing modern comfort, with interiors that feel bright, tranquil and connected to nature.​

204 rooms, suites, and residences, with stunning views of the park and golf course and great options for on-site dining for groups with Seven distinct dining venues. The highlight for me was an amazing dinner at LAB by Sergi Arola (Michelin-inspired dining), or creative Portuguese/ Spanish tapas at the Arola restaurant.

A few days ago, I returned from an incredible FAM trip exploring the Golden Triangle of Portugal — Lisbon, Sintra, and Cascais. It was a wonderful opportunity to experience everything this destination offers for the MICE business.

FAM (familiarization) trips are such valuable experiences for industry professionals. They allow us to discover new destinations firsthand, explore venues and activities, and gain authentic insights that can later be shared with clients. Experiencing a destination personally helps us better tailor recommendations and create memorable, well-informed travel experiences for groups, events, and incentives.

This adventure truly showcased the best of Portuguese hospitality, culture, nature, and luxury. Highlights included a scenic speedboat ride across the river, a buggy ride through the beautiful Sintra mountains, a visit to the Time Out Market in Lisbon with a “cook like a local” experience, and exploring Portuguese gastronomy — from a traditional tapas lunch in Seixal to Michelin-starred dining at LAB, to name just a few.

Penha Longa Resort hosted us for an unforgettable stay at their beautiful resort. Warm hospitality and stunning surroundings make it a perfect spot for corporate retreats, meetings, incentive trips, luxury getaways, or unforgettable weddings — a perfect blend of relaxation, adventure, and luxury, set within a national park in the southern Sintra Mountains.

Last week I had the pleasure of visiting The Chancery Rosewood in Mayfair — and what a stunning addition to London’s hotel scene.

Housed in the former U.S. Embassy on Grosvenor Square, the building has been completely reimagined by Sir David Chipperfield and Joseph Dirand, and it’s nothing short of spectacular. The attention to detail is incredible — from the textures and lighting to the art pieces thoughtfully placed throughout. Walking through the space honestly felt like strolling through an art gallery.

Guest Rooms & Suites: Every accommodation is a suite – 144 in total – each bathed in natural light with views across Mayfair. Some of the top tier include full kitchens, terraces and dedicated butler service.

Event & Meeting Spaces: The hotel offers an impressive array of venues for gatherings big and small. The Grand Ballroom alone covers 709 sqm (7,631 sq ft) and can accommodate up to ~750 guests depending on configuration. There are also salons, a pavilion lounge, foyer spaces and flexible boardrooms – ideal for incentive trips, corporate events, and high-end gatherings.

Function & Atmosphere: It’s not just a pretty place. The design supports what we in venue sourcing care about: circulation, breakout potential, memorable guest experience. Having a backdrop that feels like a gallery rather than a conventional hotel adds a narrative to any meeting or incentive.

Another beautiful destination in Eastern Europe, not just for city breaks but also for MICE business, is Prague – a city very close to my heart, as I studied and lived there for a few years before moving to London 21 years ago.

Prague is such an attractive choice for meetings, conferences, and incentives thanks to its:
-Central European location, easy flight connections, and accessibility
-Stunning blend of historic charm and modern infrastructure
-Wide variety of hotels and venues with great capacity for international events
-Excellent value compared to other major European capitals

While visiting my brother last August in Prague, I also had the chance to explore two great properties:
Hilton Prague

Hilton Prague
The hotel is one of the largest conference hotels in the region with 791 rooms, extensive meeting facilities including a grand ballroom for up to 1,500 delegates, 38 flexible meeting rooms and very cool Sky Bar- Cloud 9 suitable for up to 250 guests.
It is located between the historic Old Town and the business district, making it perfect for large international events.

Hilton Prague Old Town
A more boutique-style option with 303 rooms, offers elegant event spaces for up to 340 guests.
With it’s stylish Art Deco-inspired design, right in the heart of Prague’s Old Town it is ideal for meetings that want to combine business with the city’s culture and charm.

Another beautiful destination in Eastern Europe, not just for city breaks but also for MICE business, is Prague – a city very close to my heart, as I studied and lived there for a few years before moving to London 21 years ago.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Marylebone and The Bloomsbury – two beautifully distinct properties from the Doyle Collection.
Both hotels offer fantastic spaces for meetings and events, while also providing the character and charm that makes a venue memorable. Here's a quick snapshot:

Tucked away in chic Marylebone Village, just minutes from Oxford Street The Marylebone this stylish boutique hotel offers elegant spaces for private dining, meetings and rooftop receptions. I loved the fresh, contemporary interiors and flexible event spaces, ideal for anything from a board meeting to a drinks reception for 100+ guests.

Stepping into The Bloomsbury feels like entering a grand townhouse. Set in a Grade II listed building near the British Museum, it offers classic glamour with modern flair. The George V Ballroom and Queen Mary Hall are absolute showstoppers – perfect for large-scale events, while spaces like the Seamus Heaney Library offer intimacy and charm.
