At Pendley Manor Hotel, the brief wasn’t simply to build a marquee structure. It was about creating a space that felt like it belonged there.
In this video, our Director talks through the process behind one of our semi-permanent structures at , from the initial considerations through to the finished space.
One of the key challenges was choosing the right shade of green. With the structure positioned within the grounds of the hotel, we wanted it to complement its surroundings rather than become an eyesore. The colour was carefully selected to sit naturally within the landscape, helping the structure feel integrated with the venue and its environment.
But the project went far beyond the structure itself.
We designed and installed a fully fitted kitchen, providing the functionality needed to support events taking place within the space. We also incorporated a dedicated lobby, creating a more considered entrance for guests and helping the structure function as an extension of the hotel rather than simply a temporary event space.
Outside, we built a bespoke decking area directly onto the structure, providing additional space that can be used for drinks receptions, guest arrival areas and outdoor entertaining.
It’s a great example of how temporary and semi-permanent structures can be designed around the needs of a venue, balancing aesthetics, practicality and the guest experience.
From the colour of the canvas to the kitchen, decking and finer details, every element was considered with the same question in mind:
How can we make this work better for the venue and the people using it?
That’s the kind of problem-solving we bring to every project at Big Marquee Company.
