💜WE’RE GROWING… AND OUR COMMUNITY IS GROWING WITH US!💜

We’ve got some exciting news to share! 🎉

Thanks to the funding we’ve received, we’re now able to take our soft play events into new communities and new areas, reaching even more SEND families and young people. 💕✨

But don’t worry — we’re not leaving our original communities behind! ❤️ They will always be a huge part of who we are and our journey.

Our dream is to keep growing, reaching more families and, one day, hopefully create a space of our own where communities from across the UK can come together, connect, have fun and feel included.

This really is just the beginning, and we couldn’t have got here without everyone who has supported us from day one. 🥰

💜 Growing Up with My Older Brother: What Autism Taught Me About Love, Patience, and Family 💜

We’re so pleased to share our brand-new Blog #20 with you — and this one is a really special and personal story. 🥹💜

Written by Talia, this blog shares what it was like growing up alongside her older brother Jaden, who is autistic, and how their relationship has shaped the person she is today.

Growing up, Talia didn’t always understand why some things were different for their family. There were times of frustration, confusion, cancelled plans and challenges that were difficult to understand as a child.

But as she grew older, she began to see things differently — understanding her brother’s world, his need for routine and reassurance, and the ways they both experienced life differently.

From helping Jaden build confidence and independence, to answering the same questions over and over again, Talia shares some incredibly honest moments from their childhood and the lessons she has learned along the way. 💜

Most importantly, she talks about the lessons her brother has taught her — patience, compassion, understanding, unconditional love and the importance of seeing the person beyond a diagnosis.

This is a beautiful reminder that every family’s journey is different, and that sometimes the things we experience along the way teach us lessons that stay with us for life. 🦋

We know it’s been a little quiet from us recently, but we promise there’s been lots happening behind the scenes! 👀🌈

We’ve been busy planning, looking at potential venues for our upcoming soft play sessions, and working on finding a date for our next SEND Night Disco! 🎉🪩

We’re making sure everything is in the right place before we announce anything, so please bear with us. ❤️

Once we’re in a good position, we’ll be sharing more details with you all, including dates, venues and what’s coming next!

🚨✨ NEW BLOG POST – BLOG #19! ✨🚨

🎉 Exciting News – We’ve Been Awarded National Lottery Community Funding! 🎉

We are beyond excited to finally share some incredible news with you all! 💜

Just Being Me Events Collective CIC has been awarded an amazing £19,865 from The National Lottery Community Fund to support and expand our inclusive soft play events. 🛝💜

This funding is a HUGE milestone for us and means we can take our vision even further — offering more soft play sessions, reaching more families and exploring new venues across our community.

Since the beginning, our aim has always been to create safe, welcoming and inclusive spaces where children and young people with SEND can be themselves, have fun, make friends, build confidence and, most importantly, feel like they belong. 💜

This funding will help us create even more of those opportunities. ✨

But this achievement isn’t just ours…

It belongs to our amazing community too. 🥹💜

To everyone who has attended our events, volunteered, shared our posts, supported our fundraising, encouraged us, recommended us to others or simply believed in what we are trying to achieve — THANK YOU! 🫶

💜 A HUGE THANK YOU FROM SEND-oke 💜

What an incredible evening we had! 🎤✨

We want to say a massive thank you to everyone who came along, supported us and helped make our very first SEND-oke event so special.

Seeing so many smiles, hearing so many amazing voices and watching children, young people and families come together to sing, dance, cheer each other on and have fun was truly unforgettable. 🌟

A special thank you to everyone who picked up the microphone and gave it a go — whether you sang your favourite song, joined in with friends or took that brave first step onto the stage, we are so proud of you! 🎶

Thank you to our amazing volunteers, supporters and everyone behind the scenes who helped bring SEND-oke to life. Your kindness and encouragement helped create the safe, welcoming atmosphere we hoped for.

A huge thank you as well to The George pub for hosting us and being so supportive throughout the evening — we really appreciate it. 💜

The best part of the evening was seeing confidence grow, friendships being made and everyone celebrating each other.

🚗 PARKING & TRAVEL REMINDER 🚆🚌

To help your arrival go as smoothly as possible, here are a few travel tips:

🚗 Parking: The George Pub has limited parking available. If the car park is full, please park on one of the surrounding roads that is not affected by event parking restrictions. Before leaving your vehicle, please check the signs to ensure you’re parked in an unrestricted area.

🚇 Nearest Underground Station: Kingsbury Underground Station is just a short walk from the venue.

🚌 By Bus: The 302 and 83 bus routes both stop very close to The George Pub, making it easy to reach by public transport.

We know that at our last event, there were some delays with food, and we want to be completely open about that. 💜

But here’s the good news… we’ve listened, we’ve spoken with The George Pub team, and they’re ready! 🙌

The pub staff have taken on board the feedback from our last event and have been working with us to make sure the food service is much smoother this time around. They’re fully prepared for our SEND-oke night and are looking forward to welcoming you all. 🎉
