I saw this sign in a window of a shop. Its referring to grabbing a copy of a magazine issue that has just come out, but I saw something else. My mind went to grabbing hold of our own individual issues inside ourselves.

It can be hard to grab hold of an issue that has held you captive inside for so long.

Maybe its hard to know where to grab because it may feel like its been so long you don't know where it starts or ends.

Or maybe grabbing hold of that issue means finally facing something you've tried to run from for so long.

No matter the reason its time to face it, and not let it be an issue any longer in your life. Easy said than done, trust me, I understand.

But what would it be like to live without that issue? Would you be brave enough to take the first step to find out? ❤️🙏🏾

AFTERNOON TEA – HOPE & CONNECTION 💛

Saturday 12 September 2026 | 1:30pm–5:30pm
📍 **Church of the Nazarene Main Hall, 2 Grant Road, London SW11 2NU**
🎟️ **Tickets: £10 | Over 16s only**

Daughter Arise warmly invites you to join us for a meaningful afternoon of awareness, hope, connection and support as we come together to raise awareness of childhood sexual abuse and its impact on children and adult survivors.

🌿 Our programme includes:

🎤 **We Stand** – An organisation supporting non-abusing parents following the discovery of childhood sexual abuse. Their CEO will speak about their work, alongside volunteers sharing their experiences.

🎤 **Centre of Expertise on Child Sexual Abuse (CSA Centre)** – Sharing important information about believing children, the scale and nature of childhood sexual abuse, what sexual abuse is, and how we can all help raise awareness.

💜 Adult Survivor Support Daughter Arise organisation about the effects of childhood sexual abuse on adult survivors.

🗣️ Survivor Stories – Beth and Caitlin will share part of their personal journeys and how they have embraced their paths towards recovery.

📝Poetry– Caitlin and author Andreena will share their poetry.

🎶 Live Music – We are delighted to welcome soulful singer Jennifer Phillips.

🎧Live DJ & PA – providing music throughout the afternoon to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

🍰 Afternoon Tea – A selection of sandwiches, cakes and traditional and herbal teas, with vegetarian and gluten-free options available.

🎟️ RAFFLE – Every ticket holder will automatically be entered into our raffle, with prizes including:
✨ Lunch for two at Fresh Grounds Café
✨ Three life coaching sessions with an established coach
✨ Ice cream for two at Oddinos Ice Cream Parlour, Clapham Junction

This is more than an afternoon tea. It is an opportunity to listen, learn, connect and stand together in support of survivors and greater awareness of childhood sexual abuse.

me and Caitlin went out leafleting in Clapham JuTodaynction train station 🚉 😀 🙃 It was hard going and I feel knackered.

We have worked 💪🏾 so hard on this event. Behind the scenes between work i have put in the hours. My only hope is that people will take the time to come to this event. Over 11 adult survivors in the UK yet it is still so hard to engage people to talk about it.

Anyway still so much to do and of course organising event wouldn't be complete without a last minute hiccup 💯

❤️ spent mine starting with a bike ride, cake and coffee ☕️ with hubby and then onto my drumming lesson 😀

So it is going well but I realise I have a concentration issue. I pointed it out not my teacher as he says I've got great timing. He says not to say I've got an issue

but to say I'm working 💪🏾 on solving it.

Drumming is more beating the drums in time it requires focus, co ordination, timing and ability to do sometimes repetitive movements. I'm still on the basics but im enjoying it. At the end of the session I get to play a song 🎵

I hope you get to do something you enjoy this Saturday 💯❤️💪🏾
