Beautiful places, wonderful people, incredible food and the privilege of bringing some very special celebrations to life. There are definitely worse ways to spend wedding season.

A little glimpse of destination wedding planner life between timelines, supplier checks, tablescapes and making sure everything is exactly where it needs to be. With the occasional bit of quality control, obviously.

You look at these photos and see a perfectly styled Sicilian corner.

I look at them and remember the WIND. 😂

This is a little wedding-day reality check, because beautiful photographs rarely show you what’s happening behind the scenes. On this particular afternoon in Sicily, the wind had very different ideas for our carefully planned setup.

Décor wouldn’t stay put. Lightweight pieces had to be reconsidered. Displays needed securing. Anything that could fly away probably tried. So we adapted, moved things around, weighted what we could, changed what wasn’t working and kept going.

That is event planning in real life. You can plan every detail for months, but you also need a team who can look at what’s actually happening on the day and pivot without compromising the guest experience or the overall vision.

The finished result? Calm, colourful, beautifully Sicilian and exactly as it should have felt.

The final photo? A fairly accurate representation of my relationship with those cushions that afternoon. 😂

If you’re planning a destination wedding in Sicily, hire people who can create the beautiful plan, but more importantly, know what to do when the plan meets reality.

Some wedding settings don’t need transforming. They need understanding.

This is what I love about planning a destination wedding in Italy: working with the architecture, the landscape and the character of a place rather than competing with it. An intimate dinner against centuries-old stone, one long table, abundant seasonal florals, candlelight and the kind of atmosphere that simply couldn’t belong anywhere else.

For me, the most beautiful Italian weddings feel connected to where they are. Considered, immersive and unmistakably of the place.

A few months ago, we said “I do” in Palermo.

A simple, intimate day in the city where our story began. Just us, our closest people, and a moment we will treasure forever.

And now, somehow, it’s our wedding week.

In just a few days, we’ll be welcoming friends and family from near and far to the Cotswolds for the celebration we’ve been dreaming of for so long. A weekend filled with love, laughter, good food, and all the people who have shaped our lives along the way.

Looking back at these images feels incredibly special. Looking ahead feels even more exciting.

The final 10 days before a wedding are a very special kind of chaos.

The big decisions are behind you, but suddenly the smallest details take centre stage.

You’re confirming suppliers, finalising guest numbers, answering last-minute questions, checking packing lists, and wondering why your brain has decided that remembering the cake knife is now a matter of national importance.

As a planner, I know exactly what happens during this stage.

As a bride, I can confirm it is somehow even more intense when it’s your own wedding.

But hidden amongst the spreadsheets, timelines, WhatsApp messages and weather apps is something really lovely.

Excitement.

The kind that sneaks up on you when you realise that all the planning is almost over.

Soon there won’t be another checklist to write.

There will just be a wedding.

And honestly? I cannot wait. 🤍

A small detail, but one I’ll remember forever. 🤍

For our civil ceremony, I wanted everything to feel very different from what we’re creating in the Cotswolds this June. Simpler, quieter, more intimate. Almost like a pause before the celebration.

This moment in Palermo was never meant to be the full expression of our wedding, but something softer. Just us, our families, and the feeling of beginning.

The bouquet followed that same idea. Sculptural, understated, and quietly romantic. understood it instantly and brought it to life so beautifully.

Sometimes contrast is what makes each moment feel even more special.
