The story behind their wedding song that changed everything…

Olivia and Jamie’s wedding song was ‘Birds of a Feather’, which is a song about finding someone you want beside you through every stage of life.

There were questions about how their first dance was going to look with the song. The couple’s energy and charisma made it effortless to create movement that showcased their love and commitment to one another.

4 things nobody tells you when planning a wedding … 👀

1. You barely spend time together. Your wedding day flies by and everyone wants your attention.

2. Comfortable shoes matter more than you think. You will be on your feet all day. Feeling comfortable helps you actually enjoy every moment (I changed into my flip flops).

3. Have you thought about your photo poses? Using some movements from your wedding dance during your mini photo shoot with your photographer will help capture natural moments.

4. Every phone will be watching your first dance. Dancing alone is already daunting for many, but the thought of being filmed can make it feel even more nerve-racking. Feeling prepared and confident changes everything, just like it did for Elaine and Sean.

I had the absolute pleasure of attending a wedding this Easter weekend for a couple who first came to me as clients, and are now friends.

Working with the amazing duo over the past weeks has been such a joy. What started as wedding dance lessons quickly grew into something more.

Being there on their big day and watching them take to the floor for their first dance was a real highlight. They absolutely shone, full of love and connection. It was incredible to see everything they worked on come to life. Congratulation to the lovely Aaron and Jon.

I’m the person behind First Dance UK.

I work with couples of all abilities to create first dances that feel natural, confident, and completely personal to them. I’m a choreographer specialising in wedding dance couples and hen parties, and I truly love what I do.

As a choreographer, I don’t just teach steps, I create movement that allows each couple’s love story to blossom. Every routine is built around who you are together and your personalities. And yes… I am known to shed a tear when you hit that moment where everything just clicks.

Hen parties are a whole different kind of magic full of fun, high-energy, laughter, making memories you’ll never forget.
