Hey yo, the 5-hour vinyl session between me and Eli Powell is now up on my Mixcloud (via link in bio 🔗). We decided on the post to play 3-4 tracks each for the whole length of the thing, so it's all very improvised and organic.

Recorded at the pub (The Kings Arms Free House) on a lazy Sunday afternoon, it's just ust two friendly souls playing tune after tune, going all over the shop, and having fun while at it: no boundaries, with tracks from all places and ages, as typical in the old school Ibiza tradition from the times before the glamour, the excess and money took over 🌇

This Sunday NOYB returns to Kings Arms E2, taking LazyBoyEli along with him for the ride (3-8PM, free entry).

NOYB is a staple in London's listening bars and the curator of the famed Mirror Moves event; Eli Powell, with his extensive record collection, has shaped dance floors in Ibiza, London & Dublin since the mid Nineties.

Expect a kaleidoscope of sounds for this one: from summery Balearic goodness to soulful AOR, from Dubby & Downtempo bits and bobs to sounds from outer space.

This summer, so far, I have been blessed with the freedom of having loads of time away. But while I'm in LDN town, here's where you can find me, until the end of July, spinning wax:

- THU 16th 7:30PM-00:30AM at .bar, one of my favourite booths in SE, with Funk, Soul, City-Pop and Jazz 🍶

- SUN 19th 1-6PM at The Kings Arms Free House E2, helming my monthly Vinyl Open Decks where y'all can bring those charity shop finds that you can't play in clubs 🍻

- FRI 24th from 6PM at parlez® in Brockley, with "loads of House" and beyond ☕

- SUN 26th 3-8PM, back at The Kings Arms Free House, this time with Eli Powell as guest; we'll probably go halves with the timing and all over the shop with the sounds but you can expect some Balearic + Downtempo earthy tunes along with some Dubby/Post-Punkness from me, and everything else from him 🌿

- THU 30th 7-10PM at Sake.Sushi.Sakana Guru Guru 和酒と魚と肴ぐる☆ぐる, for the first time on Thursday instead of Friday, for our monthly listening session on their (now finely-tuned) pristine sound system 🍣

All gigs are VINYL, FREE ENTRY and at decent timings so please come by and say hi if you feel like 🫂

At the end of last month, I had the pleasure of being selected for .fm's Open Air, aimed at welcoming djs and hosts from outside their usual roster to give a platform to their extended community. The recording is now up on Mixcloud, available via Link in Bio 🔗

I didn't feel like recording another electronic danceable mix so here's the self-imposed brief I came up with when making the pitch: "I'll be digging in my catalogue of charity shop finds and collectibles impulse buys for those orchestral and synth-heavy records that, if not for this show, would hardly see the light of day" 🌄

What to expect?
A Vinyl-Only reverse energy mix, starting hyper and ending mellow, it was recorded late at night in one take while trying to ease myself to go to bed. Music ranges from Medieval to Classical and Modern Classical, from Film Scores to Synth-Prog Opera to then end on Downtempo and Ambient. The mix features Shida Shahabi and more... NOYB's warm up set from the Bar of is now up on (via link in bio 🔗), along with the track list on slide no. 2 ◀️

As first set of .ldn, the intention here was to set the tone: staying within a 112-120BPM, this set focuses on tribal-informed percussions and chuggy electronic sounds, with some modern reworks of latin, caribbean and african originals, along with a couple of more classic deep and melodic house bangers. A good half of the set is composed of tracks from the London-based label Earthly Measures acquired in a recent vinyl bulk-buy session.

The embers from last Saturday's .ldn have yet to cool down so we'd better strike the iron while it's hot 🥵

Here's NOYB opening set from the Basement of . After testing the soundsystem with the latest , he paid tribute to early 90s Warp Records sounds (IDM & Bleep Techno) for the first 25 mins or so. Following that, pure delivery of progressive, layered and playful Electro and Techno (with a heavy bow to some of the founders from Detroit), all rigorously under 135BPM (playing slower than most as an act of resistance) 👾

Featuring Autechre, B12, Gnork, taschendrachen, Cobblestone Jazz, Juan Atkins, Faster Detail, Steffi, etc...
