Such a pleasure making this gown for Claire Foy as Lady Savage in ’Savage House’, out in cinemas now. Made in our workroom here at Cosprop and designed by Alex Bovaird. Run (unless you’re Lord Savage and is wearing heels) to your nearest cinema to watch Savage House, with costumes both made in our workroom and from our stock.

We are so proud to present our brand new book ‘The Costume House -the inside story of Cosprop’ written by talented curator Keith Lodwick and with lots of input from staff, clients, actors and designers, supervisors e.t.c. who have all helped form Cosprop over the years. This book showcases the work that John Bright and Cosprop has so far created, and works beautifully as a companion piece to our upcoming exhibition at the as well as a standalone creation.

The countdown is on for season 3 of Enola Holmes, and while we are waiting to share the big pale blue dress reveal (Don’t worry! We’ve not forgotten! It’s coming!) here are some other gems we made for this season. Waistcoat for Louis Partridge by our tailor Charlotte and our alterations tailor Charli, and dress for Millie Bobby Brown by our dress maker Emma.

We are looking for an alteration tailor/sewist to join our Men’s Alteration department.

You will be working closely with the Men’s Costumiers, altering costumes to brief, as they have been fitted, before they go out to be used on a wide range of TV, film and stage productions.

You will need to possess good sewing skills and an understanding of tailoring, and men’s wear in general. Some knowledge of historical costume is a plus.
You need to possess good communication skills and be able to work well within a team as well as using your own initiative.

You will need to be able to work well under pressure. Good time management is a must.
As part of the Men’s alteration team, you will ensure that the garments are altered correctly and checked before leaving the building. You will sometimes be called upon to assist in fittings.
This is a permanent position.
