Breakbeat & Hardcore were big influences in my sound.
Let me know if you ever raved to this one out in the 90s.

The tracks released on the 1992 DJ Nex EP on the Stafford (North) label by Mark Archer (under his DJ Nex alias) include four breakbeat hardcore cuts:

* Respect Is Due - A classic early rave stabs and heavy breaks.
* Fluid - A dynamic track with spartan arrangements and house-infused breakbeats.
* DJ Nex’ Theme - The prominent track driven by a catchy piano riff and junglist swing.
* When I Come, I Come Ruff - A jungle track featuring an acid line, piano stabs, and hard breakbeats

A Different Sunday Vibe for me spent taking my daughter and friend to Allpointseast Outbreak Festival Deftones

Not my usual kind of music event. So was a good experience to hear different music and spend most of the day at the front with loads of Deftones fans going crazy. Live music is always very impressive and the line up was good. Deftones were excellent. I managed to find a techno DJ also which was fun 🤩

Following on my story about how I started my journey as a DJ. Exploring the music that inspired me.

Underground Radio was where I first played live.
It was just at the time when pirate radio stations like KISS fm became legal. There was something very special about that era and introducing new music to people that had never heard breakbeats and dark sub bass elements that defined that era of UK rave and dance music. Reinforced records was one of my favorite labels defining the sound of early 90s rave & breakbeat.

My Journey - where Mileage started
Come back to the 90s with me.

Sharing a little nostalgia practice mix. I learned to DJ back in 1990/1991 when 15-16 year old.

These tracks have so much of a connection to me. I used to practice every day and couldn’t afford a lot of music.
I loved breaks & rave, however, learning to beat match on 4x4 tracks that were more stripped back was a bot easier.

I’m a little rusty/ out of practice on vinyl now but the feeling and emotion of revisiting these tracks and sharing my journey brings back a lot of memories. I hope you enjoy these and let me know when tracks you like, or remember.
