I’m often asked how Wislocki Music started, so I thought I’d share a little of the story behind it.
I spent many years as a professional violist, performing with orchestras, artists and at events all over the world. Along the way, I became fascinated by everything that happens around the music - how the right musicians can completely transform a room, and how much difference it makes when someone quietly knows what they’re doing behind the scenes.
When I started Wislocki Music in 2019, I wanted to create the kind of music service I would have wanted myself: high level musicianship, carefully chosen artists and a genuinely personal approach, without the stress of working out who to book, whether they’ll be reliable or how everything will come together on the day.
But there was another reason that mattered to me.
I know how hard musicians work!
Being a professional musician takes years of training, enormous commitment and a level of preparation that most people never see. I wanted to build an agency where that work is respected and musicians are properly valued - not simply as a commodity that fills a slot, but as talented people who are a huge part of making an event special.
After years in the industry, I understand the musicians, planners and venues, and the practical realities of live performance. I know the questions that need asking and the details that aren't always obvious until you're standing in the middle of a wedding trying to solve them.
And ultimately, it comes down to people.
The musicians need to feel looked after. The planner needs to know they can rely on us. And the couple should be able to relax and enjoy the music without worrying about what’s happening behind the scenes.
Because ultimately, it’s not just about the music. It’s about the atmosphere, the memories being created and the feeling being evoked.
Those are the things I care about.
