To whom it may concern,
I am writing this formal public complaint regarding my terrible and deeply traumatic experience with Health Medical Center Albania (HMC Albania), its management, staff, and CEO during my visit to Albania in April 2026.
I travelled to Albania primarily to explore the country and also to experience the highly advertised and viral dental cleaning and whitening treatments promoted by Health Medical Center Albania. Ironically, I already had very clean and healthy teeth before visiting this clinic, but what was supposed to be a simple cosmetic dental experience ended up becoming one of the most stressful, painful, and financially damaging experiences I have ever encountered.
During my appointment, I requested that one of the dentists create a gold crown tooth for me using my own genuine gold tooth. Instead of receiving professional treatment, my tooth was badly damaged, my personal gold tooth disappeared, and I was left suffering physically, emotionally, and financially.
The gold tooth that went missing was worth approximately 1,600 Saudi Riyals, equivalent to around £315. Despite repeatedly raising concerns immediately after the incident, I was given excuses, false promises, and constant delays. I was told that the clinic would either send my gold tooth to my home address in the United Kingdom or refund me the full value of the missing gold tooth. However, since 23rd April 2026, I have been going back and forth with the clinic without any proper resolution.
To make matters worse, my appointment was handled in an extremely unprofessional manner. My appointment was scheduled for 11:00 AM, yet I was left waiting for over four hours until around 3:30 PM. Due to the delays caused by the clinic, I ended up missing my flight, causing me additional financial loss, stress, and inconvenience.
The attitude and conduct of the staff and management throughout this ordeal were absolutely shocking. The staff members were rude, dismissive, arrogant, and showed little to no empathy regarding the damage and distress caused to me. The CEO himself was extremely dismissive and arrogant during our communications. At one point, he personally contacted me and promised to process a refund. He requested details of the original gold seller in Saudi Arabia, which I immediately provided to him in good faith. However, despite requesting these details, he never contacted the seller and failed to honour his promises.
Instead of resolving the issue professionally, I was threatened for speaking publicly about my experience. The CEO warned me that any comments or reviews I posted on their social media platforms would be deleted. He later blocked me entirely from their platforms after I continued demanding accountability and compensation for my missing property and the damage caused.
What makes this even more heartbreaking is seeing fellow Nigerians allegedly being used for paid public relations and promotions to defend the clinic online. Ironically, the same promotional arrangement was also offered to me from the beginning, which I refused because I preferred honesty and transparency. It is deeply disappointing to witness our own people allegedly being used to silence or undermine genuine victims and negative experiences.
I also sent multiple emails regarding this matter, many of which were ignored and never properly responded to.
After the incident, I was later contacted by an Albanian individual who shared concerning information and allegations about the CEO’s past business activities before operating the dental clinic. While I cannot independently verify these claims, hearing such reports further increased my concerns regarding the professionalism and ethics of the organisation.
In addition, the owner of the hotel where I stayed during my visit also expressed sympathy towards me after hearing what had happened. He informed me that many guests who stay at the hotel often visit the same dental clinic and later return with negative experiences and complaints. He explained that he previously attempted to warn people but faced legal threats and issues after some individuals reported his comments back to the clinic management. According to him, this is why he no longer openly warns guests despite feeling sorry for those who experience problems there. He also described the CEO as highly connected, influential, and arrogant — behaviour that I personally experienced throughout my ordeal.
The consequences of this experience did not end in Albania. After returning to the United Kingdom, I suffered severe complications from the dental damage caused during the treatment. My tooth became infected, resulting in pain, emotional distress, and the need for urgent corrective treatment in the UK. I have now spent over £1,000 on dental procedures to repair the damage caused by Health Medical Center Albania.
This entire experience has left me feeling deeply traumatised, exploited, disrespected, and emotionally exhausted. No patient deserves to travel abroad seeking treatment only to return home with damaged teeth, infections, financial losses, emotional distress, and missing personal property.
I want to make it very clear that I will not back down until I am fairly compensated for the missing gold tooth, the dental damage caused, and the financial and emotional suffering I have endured.
If others have had positive experiences there, that is their personal experience and opinion. However, nobody should attempt to silence or invalidate what I personally went through. My experience was devastating, and I believe I have every right to speak openly about it.
I sincerely hope Health Medical Center Albania finally takes accountability for the distress, negligence, financial losses, and emotional harm caused to me.
