Bridgerton, but make it a rave! 😂

It was a real pleasure DJing somewhere with such a rich history locally. A grade I listed Georgian town hall in the lovely market town of Newark, Nottinghamshire.

And despite the sound challenges (these venues weren’t designed with the DJ in mind I guess!), we pulled off an amazing party for the bride and groom and their guests, some who ventured far to be a part of their big day.

From the first dance to a busy floor full of their favourite people — this is exactly what a wedding party should feel like.

No set formula. No “one size fits all” playlist. Just great music, the right moments, and a party built around you. 🩷

After 25 years of DJing, you’d think I’d have wedding planning completely figured out…

Turns out, being the person actually getting married is a VERY different experience. 😂

I’m currently planning my own wedding, and it’s given me a completely different perspective on some of the things I’ve spent years telling couples.

There’s so much pressure to get everything “right”.

The right songs.
The right timings.
The right traditions.
The right way of doing things.

But the more we plan, the more I’m realising that actually…

There is no right way.

It’s your wedding.

And if you want a traditional first dance, brilliant.

If you want to kick off with a proper banger, even better.

If you don’t want half the traditions you’ve seen at every other wedding, that’s absolutely fine too.

After all these years, I think the best advice I can give couples is the same advice I’m trying to take myself:

Plan the wedding YOU want. Then enjoy the bloody thing. 🪩❤️

And yes… I’m still arguing with myself about the playlist. 😂

Remember, your first dance can be any song you want. 🎶

Charlotte & Charlie chose Miley Cyrus’s version of Like A Prayer - and it went down perfectly! Not often you get a first dance that can also double up as a party starter. 🙌

And that’s exactly how I believe your wedding should work.

Your must-plays. Your timings. Your music. Your first dance.

Want to turn things up a gear from 10pm? Consider it done. Want to throw in something completely unexpected? Let’s do it.

Because this isn’t a set playlist or a one-size-fits-all wedding disco.

I’m probably not the DJ for everyone.

And that’s exactly how I like it.

If you’re looking for the cheapest option, a human jukebox or someone to scream into a microphone all night… we might not be the perfect match.

But if you want someone who knows when to push the dancefloor, when to change direction and when to simply let a great song do its thing…

This is one of those moments that reminds me why I love what I do.

The dancefloor was packed, the glow sticks were out, and for three minutes absolutely everyone forgot about being cool and just got involved. Guests arm in arm, singing at the top of their lungs, huge smiles everywhere, and the kind of atmosphere you simply can’t fake.

It’s never about fancy tricks or forcing people onto the dancefloor. It’s about creating the right moment, playing the right song, and letting the room take over.

Safe to say this one went off. 🙌💜
