If you're planning a wedding, vow renewal or other union ceremony and would like to know what I can offer as a celebrant, please see my latest blog.

Every celebrant brings something of their life experience and story to their work - in this article I explain what I can offer as a wedding celebrant.

This week it is my privilege to be writing a Placement Ceremony which will be taking place at Mid-England Barrow Ltd. It is a joy not to be constrained by time in the way I usally am - families can have as many tributes or rituals and as much music as they wish.

For more information on this special place see by blog from earlier this year.

Account of my visit to Mid-England Barrow- a stunning setting in the rural countryside for the storing, scattering or burial of ashes.

It's a writing day for me today - always a privilege and always supremely conscious of the Heart-led Ceremonies Celebrant Training I was lucky enough to undertake. I return again and again to the guidance given by Veronika Robinson - Celebrant & Author and Paul Robinson Voice and Communication Coach. I will be using several of the fantastic books Veronika supplied and, in time, rehearsing using the skills and tips I was shown by Paul.

Rituals help us to a convey meaning and siginificance beyond that which words can express. The beauty of a celebrant-led occasion is those rituals can be bespoke; nothing has to be done and almost nothing is off limits!

A ring warming ritual is a popular choice for a wedding or vow renewal. The rings are passed around the gathered guests and blessed with their thoughts, prayers and warm wishes for the couple before exchange. The rings can be kept in a bag or perhaps you'd prefer them fastened to a twig of rosemary which has long been a symbol of fidelity and loyalty?

Interesting article about the positive impact of attending a Death Cafe. The next one in Kirby Muxloe will be in 24 July, 6-8pm The Royal Oak, Kirby Muxloe. Do come along; you’d be most welcome.

I felt peace flood over me as I realised I no longer needed to seek validation from others. Rather than saying yes to everything, I became more open, present and patient

There's a balance to be found between saying 'yes' and 'no'. This article explores the importance of knowing when to say 'no' and when to say 'yes'.

I am delighted to say that just this week I have had both professional and social support and connections with members of Leicestershire Celebrants' Forum. So pleased that so many of us see the value of cooperation over competition. If you’re a Midlands based celebrant and want to connect with others do get in touch.

A great big thank you to all the friendly, supportive people that are already making this group the great place it is.

June is, of course, Pride Month in the UK and serves to remind us all of the importance of inclusivity and acceptance. I hope everyone celebrating Pride this year has a fab time.

Inclusivity and acceptance is at the heart of my celebrancy practice - always!
