Today we were at Danby Castle Barn | North Yorkshire Wedding Venue , one of our favourite venues to set up at.

What a week that was!

We kicked things off once again at Denton Reserve, Ilkley, bringing our archery experience to a corporate event overlooking the lake. A fantastic setting we enjoy visiting, plenty of friendly competition, and some surprisingly accurate shots!

From there, we travelled to the beautiful Runa Farm in Barnard Castle to celebrate the wedding of Suzi and Alan, helping their guests step back in time with an immersive Viking experience. Seeing people of all ages pick up an axe or draw a bow for the first time never gets old.

Weeks like this remind us why we do what we do. One day we’re entertaining colleagues, the next we’re part of one of the biggest days in a couple’s lives. Every event is different, but our goal is always the same: to create an experience that people will remember long after the targets have been packed away.

A huge thank you to everyone who booked us, welcomed us, and had a go. Your laughter, competitive spirit and incredible feedback make every mile worthwhile.

Now it’s on to another week of adventures. Where will the road take us next? 🪓🏹

What an incredible weekend at Out of the Ashes Rally!

A huge thank you to Phoenix MCC for hosting such a fantastic event. It was an absolute pleasure to spend the weekend surrounded by great people, plenty of laughter and an amazing atmosphere.

Thank you to everyone who found our hidden Viking range, threw an axe, shot an arrow, had a chat or took part in our Clash of the Clans Axe Throwing Tournament.

A massive congratulations to Cookie from Hells Angels MC, who claimed the title and took home the bragging rights!

We’d also like to give a special shout-out to the clubs that came over to support us throughout the weekend:

This weekend we're off to Out of the Ashes Rally hosted by Phoenix MCC, and we've teamed up with Beneath The World Tree once again to bring some extra chaos.

New flyer announcing the bands for FMB Present - Grim Up North 2026! Motorbike Rally and Bike Show!

On the Friday night, from 7pm we have the amazing DJ Paul Ming Hollinshead before and after the awesome Deathwish on at 9pm.

And on Saturday night, we have returning to the rally our favourite local band Serotine from 7pm, and the ever great A Band of Gypsies from 10pm.

Give them all a check out and see the brilliant music we are going to have on over the Rally weekend.

Another year, another pile of biker rallies…

Therefore, Clash of Clans returns!

In collaboration with Beneath The World Tree, we are hosting a team based knockout Axe Throwing knockout tournament whereby the winner walks away with an epic prize!

At our last tournament, 4 clans battled it out in sideways rain at Roar Rally and the victor was a one-man/woman team from Perverts in Leather!

We’re always trying to think of other things we can teach people who book us, especially if they pick up normal throwing easily enough.

We have the Double spin, triple spin, underarm throw and now the backwards underarm throw.

What else would you suggest?

One of the questions we’re asked all the time is:

“Can you actually throw, or do you just teach it?”

The honest answer is… we spend most of our time teaching!

At weddings, festivals and corporate events, our job isn’t to show off. It’s to help complete beginners land that first satisfying thunk into the target and make sure everyone has a safe, unforgettable time.

But every now and then, when everyone has had a throw and the range is empty, we’ll have a little play ourselves when someone says ‘ok, you do it’

Here’s a double-spin throw… followed immediately by another. 🪓

Not bad for a couple of weapon launching enthusiasts who spend most of their weekends helping everyone else become the heroes.

VIKINGS… IN SUITS!

Yesterday we found ourselves at the stunning The High Force Hotel for a wedding, and it felt like something straight out of a film.

One minute there were suits, dresses and champagne.

The next there were axes flying through the air, and a gathering of modern Vikings competing for glory.

We managed to capture this incredible slow-motion moment of the bride and groom, Hope and Bradley, landing their axes on the target at exactly the same time. A fitting way to begin a life of teamwork, if you ask us.

But the throw of the day belonged to one of the guests, who stepped up and somehow landed a triple-spin overhead axe throw from around 20 metres away having never thrown an axe in her life!

We’re still not entirely convinced it happened. Fortunately, we have witnesses.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and made it such a fantastic afternoon. There is something wonderfully British about attending a beautiful wedding in your finest clothes and then immediately attempting to throw sharp objects at bits of wood.

Congratulations once again to the happy couple.

Axes flying. Arrows loosed. Targets trembling.

This week Northern Realms had the pleasure of bringing Viking axe throwing and traditional archery to another fantastic event, introducing new warriors to skills our ancestors would have recognised instantly.

One thing we never tire of seeing is that moment when someone lands their first bullseye or sticks their first axe. The grin afterwards is always the same.

Whether it’s a wedding, corporate event, festival or private gathering, there is something timeless about stepping away from screens and doing something real.
