I’ve slowed down a bit making these.
Not because I’ve lost interest in them, quite the opposite. I realised putting pressure on myself to produce a new one every month was beginning to defeat the point of the series.
These were always supposed to be a place to explore. To disappear down rabbit holes, follow a feeling, find records I wouldn’t normally go for and gradually piece them together into something that feels like a snapshot of where my head is at.
So I’ve been giving them more time.
And the more time I spend digging, the more I’m reminded of what I actually want from techno.
I’ve always enjoyed raw techno, but there’s a difference between music that makes you sway and music that makes you move - I know which one I prefer.
I want physicality. Body music. Records with enough vibe you stop thinking and start moving.
There’s some new Apex Recordings material in here too, which makes this one particularly close to home.
