There’s something quite special about stepping away from the studio and creating simply for the joy of flowers.

Last month, we joined a wonderful group of florists at the Leicestershire Flower Farm for a creative workshop centred around this incredible tree installation. Using seasonal blooms and natural materials, we transformed an ancient tree into a floral statement piece that felt as though it had grown there naturally.

Days like these are so valuable. They give florists the opportunity to learn, experiment, share ideas and reconnect with creativity alongside others who understand the craft. Away from wedding timelines, event schedules and delivery routes, it’s a chance to play, collaborate and be inspired.

As wedding florists, we are always looking for new ways to bring natural, garden-inspired floral design to our couples across Rutland, Stamford, Leicestershire and the surrounding areas. Workshops like this help keep our creativity flourishing and our designs evolving.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in such a beautiful day of flowers and friendship.

Soft summer skies, the scent of sweet peas drifting through the air, and the most beautiful setting overlooking Rutland Water… Saturday saw S&R say “I do” at the elegant Rutland Hall Hotel.

For their wedding flowers, we created a romantic palette of mixed pastels filled with some of the season’s most treasured blooms. Delicate sweet peas were chosen for their heavenly fragrance and their meaning of blissful pleasure and gratitude, whilst soft peonies symbolise romance, prosperity and a happy marriage. Fragrant freesia weaved throughout the designs represent friendship, trust and thoughtfulness — a beautiful sentiment to carry into married life together.

Garden-inspired floral design is always about more than colour alone. Texture, movement and scent all help create those lasting memories from a wedding day, and this one felt effortlessly romantic from beginning to end.

Where floristry meets the wild.

Yesterday I spent the day at Flourish — a creative gathering of florists at The Leicestershire Flower Farm — creating purely for the joy of it. Together, we transformed this magnificent oak tree into a living, foam-free floral installation, allowing every stem to move naturally with the landscape around it.

And then came the wind… bringing all the drama, movement and magic we could have hoped for. Watching the flowers dance against the branches felt less like floristry and more like art in motion.

Days like these are such an important reminder of the beauty that happens when creatives come together without rules, timelines or expectations — just flowers, imagination and nature leading the way.

The sweetest little flower crown for the tiniest member of the wedding party.

Designed for a two-year-old flower girl, this delicate crown was created using soft ivory roses, fresh foliage and dainty gypsophila for a timeless, romantic feel. Lightweight, comfortable and securely finished with ribbon ties, it was made to look beautiful while still being practical for little ones to wear throughout the day.

A true pinch me moment… ✨

This little floral bag made its way all the way to the RHS Chelsea Preview Day, and I still can’t quite believe I’m saying that out loud.

When shared her vision for Chelsea with me, there was absolutely no way I could resist bringing it to life. Using delicate orchids and flowing Italian ruscus, I carefully wove each stem onto the frame with a variety of wiring techniques to create movement and softness - allowing the florals to tumble naturally across the front of this beautiful bag.

It was such a joy to create something that blurred the line between fashion and floristry. A tiny piece with a huge presence, proving that flowers really can transform anything into wearable art.

From Rutland to Chelsea… what a journey for this little bag.
