Stollen Christmas pudding, dotted with melting marzipan pearls and finished with butter and almonds. Soft, rich, and quietly festive.

Kendal Mountain Festival has a Vegan Society stand this year! It’s sensible to be there given the outdoor community is concerned about climate change. Vegan people have been glad to see it and non-vegan people have asked lots of questions… often about food!
So it’s all great and we have to thanks Jules Alison for organising us.

What’s for tea?
Tonight it’s a velvety red pepper bisque – silky, sweet, a bit of a hug in a bowl. I’ll be eating this with a blanket round my shoulders and not apologising for it.

This is the first in my new weekly rhythm: answering the world’s question with real food.

What's for tea? Faux Gras pâté made with puy lentils, mushrooms and walnuts. I'm absolutely loving having this rich, soft and flavoursome pâté in the fridge and quite honestly, I like it best topped with sauerkraut!
