When I finally took the plunge to fully commit to the floral industry, leaving my comfortable flowery cloud behind, I was shocked still by the reality of floristry. In the 21st century, the amount of waste, single-use plastic, and the scale of environmental disregard was staggering. Surely as professionals we should be working with nature, not against it?

This made me even more determined to promote sustainability and show how beautiful nature can be on its own—without the need for artificial frameworks or unnecessary additions in order to shine.

This is a main purpose of running the school, where we nuture and celebrate nature’s raw beauty.

What a scorching bank holiday, and it's here to stay for the rest of the week!

Now things are well and truly hotting up, it's the perfect time to mention my Summer Bouquet Workshop on Saturday, 27th June.

The flower school is situated at Maws Craft Centre and it is the perfect setting for a wonderful afternoon here in the Gorge. Allow yourself some time to meet the talented crafters and artists in their studios, and grab a spot of lunch outside in the picturesque courtyard at the 🌿

Flower art

At the school, we celebrate the dance of movement, the depth of texture, and the magic of transition. Yesterday was a perfect example of this. The room was filled with students treasuring every 'wriggly' stem, sculptural green, and dramatic hue.

To have the space to be free, expressive, and capture fleeting beauty is exactly what cultivates us.
