A big thanks to all that attended the Ingleton Folk Weekend even though the organised events had been cancelled. The sessions in the Wheatsheaf Hotel were kept going as normal by the faithful.
The Old Hill Inn had a Saturday evening session, run by Andy Hill and £90 was raised for The Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
Bernies Cafe had an open mic session Saturday afternoon run by Acoustic Routes that was very well attended. Also the evening concert at Bernies Cafe featured the unique music and comic talents of Kieth Donnelly, an excellent concert enjoyed by all. A session followed afterwards.

The Comic Song Competition sponsored by Masons Dog Oil, was held at The Old Hill Inn on Sunday 1st October. An excellent time was had by all with a music session afterwards. The competition winner was Kevin Bell from Kendal with his song Why, oh why, oh why?

The 2017 Ingleton Folk Weekend is almost here!
Dont forget that although the formal Ingleton Folk Weekend
is now cancelled, there are still plenty of opportunities to
make music informally this coming weekend Fri - Sunday.
The Wheatsheaf pub will welcome musicians throughout the
weekenod for normal pub session.
The Old Hill Inn is hosting a Saturday session from 12 noon
with Andy Hill.
Bernies Cafe will be holding an open mike event on Saturday
afternoon with "Acoustic Routes" from 2pm.
Saturday Evening- don't miss the Free concert at Bernies Cafe at 7.30pm with Keith Donnelly, a very entertaining artist
reputed to be able to make a sheep laugh. A good laugh is a
real tonic so be there. Real Ale and curries will be available too. Get there early to get a good seat.
The famous Comic Song Competition refuses to die and will
be held on Sunday at the Old Hill Inn. Registration at 12 noon
Start at 12.30.

The Folk Committee are pleased to confirm that both the Wheatsheaf and the Old Hill Inn are keen to continue the sessions which have always been the main attraction of the Folk Weekend. We hope that they will continue in future years without the need for formal organisation or fundraising.

The Wheatsheaf in Ingleton has confirmed that they will welcome folk sessions throughout the weekend.
The Old Hill Inn in Chapel-le-Dale has organised a couple of sessions:
Saturday 30th – Noon onwards – A Session of Song & Laughter with Andy Hill
Sunday 1st October – Noon onwards - A Session with Ron Davies

Comic Song Competition – Maybe return in 2018 as a standalone event

With regret, the Festival Committee have decided that the 2017 Ingleton Folk Weekend is CANCELLED.
There will be a Farewell evening of FREE entertainment with Keith Donnelly at Bernie’s Café, Ingleton on Saturday 30th September, 7.30pm – late.
Real ale and Curry will be available; make sure you come and join in the fun.

The Wheatsheaf, Ingleton, will welcome Friday evening & Saturday Lunchtime sessions. (to be confirmed).
The Old Hill Inn will welcome musicians over the weekend, from 8.30pm Friday & Saturday evenings, and from 12 noon on the Sunday. (to be confirmed).
The remaining Festival funds will be passed to Ingleton Swimming Pool Committee, to help develop a new local community project, the Ingleton Splash Zone.

INGLETON FOLK WEEKEND UPDATE

There will be Morris Dancing at locations
around the Village during the day.

In the Methodist Hall from 2.30 p.m.
With tea and homemade cakes there will be
Children and Family entertainment
Featuring Keith Donnelly Suitable for all ages.

The Big Session 12 till 3 p.m. Tunes only
The Big Sing 3 till 6 p.m. Songs only
Will be held in the Ex Servicemens Club.

Another great weekend in Ingleton, playing music in the Wheatsheaf. Many thanks to all who made the effort, good fun, good music, good friends, plenty of Beer. A great mix of song, tunes and dancing. Looking forward to the next time.
