Despite the cloud our last Summer Stargazing guests of the season were treated to an amazing barbeque, a solar presentation and a drink toast on the moors of Exmoor to greet the rising Moon.... we all had a great evening being inspired by Astronomy....

Wild about Exmoor and Space Detectives are deeply saddened to hear the tragic news coming out of Exmoor over the last 24 hours and our thoughts and prayers are with everyone involved.

Thank you also to all those emergency services that attended and to the wonderful community of Wheddon Cross who came together to help in any way they could.

The road involved and the school are well known to us which makes it all the more upsetting. Stay strong MMS - the Exmoor community are there for you. 😥😥

Lovely feedback this morning re our event on Thursday evening just gone. So pleased we managed to inspire these guests. Makes us feel happy.

I just want to say a huge thank you to you both for an amazing evening on Thursday .
We both really enjoyed it, had so many wow moments and learnt so much

It was lovely to be in the presence of two people who are so passionate , enthusiadtic and knowledgeable about their subject , truly inspirational.

I also want to say a huge thank you for taking the trouble and time to acknowledge *** retirement in the way that you did . He is very reserved but was so touched by the cake, card and appreciation shown to him ❤️

Combined with the amazing weather, a practically perfect evening.

Lovely evening with our Summer Barbeque guests who enjoyed looking at the Sun through the Solar telescope to start with, then were treated to a fabulous home cooked Bruce Barbeque, followed by our Solar presentation. We then left the tea rooms and with a few bottles of wine in the rucksack and camping mats at the ready, we climbed up onto the Moors to toast the Sunset and await the rising Moon.... Fantastic evening and one we will repeat again for anyone who would like to come along on 7th August.. tickets via the website www.wildaboutexmoor.com

It was super hot today on our guided walk on Countisbury Hill (!!) with our Australian Guests who are here on a coach tour of the UK. At least we were walking down!! But hey what incredible scenery! And thank you so much Angus for the tips! It paid for our taxi ride back up 😅😉 You certainly all deserved the cream tea at the end! Have a safe and enjoyable rest of your trip and hopefully see you return to Exmoor National Park again one day!

How about a lovely barbeque, followed by Solar Gazing and then watching the Sun set over Exmoor? Sound idyllic? Well, no worries, we will still have our barbeque and use the virtual skies instead.... so we got it all covered.
