Our popular Miniatures & Model Painting Session is back on Thursday 15th October 7pm-9:30pm

We provide everything you’ll need to paint a unique miniature, with step by step assistance from our volunteers. With an amazing selection of miniatures from Crafted Campaigns and more!

Tickets are £3, £5 or £8 depending on your model size choice. We are a register not-for-profit, profits from ticket sales go towards running more community events.

🎲 Gateway Games: The MTBG Review 📄
All board gamers will have a story of their ‘gateway game’. The game that made them delve deeper into the tabletop gaming hobby.
As a nonprofit games library and event hosts we need to make sure our gateway games are some of the best available, with key factors being how user friendly are they to teach, learn and replay.

The 4 games we chose for this MTBG Review are in no way a limited list, we’re just hilighting the top games we pick up and recommend time and time again. These games are tried and tested frequently at our board gaming events, and we haven’t been let down by them so far 😎

Ready Player 2: Competitive or Co-op 🎲

2 Player games are what started our hobby and board game collection. The game Hive from Gen42 Games was a Christmas present to Matt and we snowballed from there. (And believe me we still take Hive along on every day trip or coffee brea! 100% recommend)

Over time we’ve explored different genres of 2 player games, but everything goes into one of two categories for us: Competitive or Co-op.

SEPTEMBER WRAPPED 🎲 with More Than Board Games

Thank you to everyone we met last month, to all the new gamers and regulars ⭐️ Without you our games just sit on shelves waiting to be played.

Our first night at Roam Café Bistro | Houghton Regis, Bedfordshire was amazing and we met new local families looking for screen free entertainment. We got to showcase our gateway games and ice breaker party games. Qork from The Op Games was a favourite!

Bedford Pride with Rainbow Bedfordshire was an amazing day to be part of. We ran out of space for gaming but we made it work! Tinderblox,Barbecubes from Alley Cat Games were great to get people settled in for games.

Our popular Miniature Painting Workshop was another great one; new paints, news minis and great conversation. A great space to learn painting techniques in a friendly space.

Our beginner friendly D&D sessions were fully booked! Kira had a blast picking carnival games to teach some core mechanics of D&D.
Alongside our ever growing board games nights at The White Lion. (We’ve almost maxed out our little gaming space!) our chilled games for larger groups were the most popular, including Medium, Wavelength and Scotland Yard.

More Than Board Games was created to make tabletop gaming more accessible, and help support mental well-being and reduce isolation but hosting gaming events.

We hosts a mixture of regular and one off events, in Central Bedfordshire. As well as community and private hire events 🗓️
