My DJ career dates back to starting in 1998 and was founded from my love for UK Garage music. Although underground, UK Garage was starting to reach the masses. Flyers, Posters and Tape packs were everywhere and everyone knew who the big DJ's were from the scene. I wanted to be one of these DJ's...
I started out with my first set of used belt driven Sound Lab decks in my bedroom while collecting
garage vinyl from Record Box (Gants Hill), Music Power (Ilford), Record Village (Walthemstow), Criminal Records (Black Horse Road), Black Market Records (Soho) and many more! Once established with friends as a DJ, I started to get booked for parties, house parties, small functions etc. As UK Garage grew so did my DJ career which by 2001 had expanded to DJ'ing sets at some of Essex & London's most well known nightclubs and events! By 2003 - although UK Garage was evolving, decks were being replaced by CDJ's - there was still a love for the slightly older uk garage sounds from 98-02 which led me to start up my own event brand 'Naughty But Nice'. I went on to host events around Essex & London for the following 10 years which helped satisfy my passion for the industry even though I was no longer DJ'ing regularly. It wasn't until 2012 when I started to explore DJ'ing digitally. It was the way the industry was moving and I really wanted to get back involved.
