So about a year ago Hannah and I decided to close down smoking bears BBQ as a business to really concentrate on starting our own family. It’s something that has been so important to us, and over the last five years it’s been a real journey, so to finally be able to post this is still a bit unbelievable but, we’ll be welcoming a new pit crew member in March 2026.
We shared the news with our families yesterday (with a bbq of course…!) and we can’t wait to meet the addition to our family in about six months time.
We feel incredibly lucky and blessed to be able to share this news with everyone, family is something that we both hold very closely on our hearts. The pics in this post are obviously the scan, an incredible cake we had made for the occasion by and of course, a load of bbq pictures for what we served up for the announcement!
I wanted to take a minute to shout out to my incredible wife as well. When we ran the business it was tough on her, but she was always there making sure things ran smoothly, all while going through a hell of a lot in the background herself physically. Without all of that we never would have got to making this announcement today. She’s shown resilience and courage that I never thought possible in someone, she’s going to make a great mama bear!
I’m going to start trying to be a bit more active on social media again, but to avoid anyone thinking the business is reopening I’ll be throwing it over to my personal instagram (I’ll put something up when I get it all up and running again…!) but for now we wanted to share the news with everyone we have met over the years of running this business and made friends with in this amazing community. Here’s to 2026 rolling around as quickly as possible!
