POV: A coffee shop asked for a balloon arch… and we made coffee pouring into a giant coffee cup instead ☕🤯

From a teacup recipe (thank you 🙌) with a little tweaking it became a full coffee cup installation and I’m OBSESSED.

Created for the grand opening of in Codicote, Hertfordshire - go show Steph and the team some love 🤎

Cup: Eucalyptus + Reflex Gold by
Coffee: Mocha by

Would you have chosen an arch… or this? 👀👇

A quick chat from the sofa 🎈

Zoe and I sat down to talk about why we’ve been building The Balloon Agents alongside our own balloon businesses.

It’s a platform created by balloon artists, for balloon artists - bringing together training dates, practical business tools, and trusted resources in one place.

This page will always stay focused on client work.

This post is simply here for anyone in the industry who wants to see what we’re building.

Day 4 - Today started with business and memorial balloons, branches being sorted into levels and checks started on each and every branch, as I’m sure you know balloons can go down (hence why we give them some breathing time) repairs were made and final checks done.

The star sponsered by and upper level branches with baubles and memorials began being installed!

We were exhausted, our fingers hurt, our heads were aching, our backs and legs felt like they were bending the wrong way, but we could now see the vision and that was important, it was all coming together and fast but we were still nowhere near finished! The tree was about half way installed by close of play… at this point we had less than 24 hours before reveal and we still had so much to do!

Although the tree is built, the fundraising challenge continues, and targets need to be met.

Day 3 - The day started with… you guessed it inflation, inflation, inflation and we were beginning to flag… we turned on the Christmas tunes, knuckled down and continued inflating. Then we got a visit from The Lord Mayor and I had the pleasure of showing him how to inflate and tie a duplet (he was pretty good you know).

We continued, making, wrapping and building the branches, the star framework was made, balloons were installed, and we began inflating the business baubles and memorial balloons.

Then we saw the handmade, bespoke dome start inflating… so of course ran downstairs to have a team pic.

The scaffolding went up and the central tree framework was made, tested, tested and tested again. By the end of the day we had finished building the branches but the task was nowhere near over we still had a huge amount to do.

Although the tree is built, the fundraising challenge continues, and targets need to be met.

Day 2 - Inflation started, like loads and loads and loads, we were 2 to a machine and we worked on a rotation system which works so well once you’ve got the hang of it (I think we inflated 25k balloons ). Inflated balloons started going on branches, new branches were made, tested, cable tied and wrapped… it was tough, we worked for 12 hours, stopping for lunch, press visits and drinks.

Then after dinner we had to move out of the room we were in, 10ft branches were put in cupboards, all our equipment was moved upstairs, I’m talking inflators, balloons, computers, vinyl cutters, literally everything was moved, we got to bed at 11pm and we were broken 😴 Unfortunately due to timing we didn’t have time to get a lot of content to show you, but this is about the story and the charities 🫶🏻

Although the tree is built, the fundraising challenge continues, and targets need to be met.

On 24th November 2025 a team of 15 arrived at to build (the UK’s first 15ft balloon Christmas tree inside an 18ft globe, supporting 10 amazing charities) and we were all excited to get going.

What people don’t see about balloon work is the grit behind it, the long journeys, early starts, late finishes, time away from home, lugging equipment, planning, last min changes, last min orders, huge teams, huge personalities, clashes, the list goes on… it’s organised chaos at the very least! But most of all it’s fun and we love it!

I’m going to give a day by day of the experience, what I gained from it, and ultimately what it takes to get a project done… when at times you’re not sure you will have the time, sanity or energy…

Day 1 - Everyone arrived, I travelled with and we done a 95 mile trip (not including her 2 hour train journey to meet me)… Whenever we arrive at a project like this it’s like family coming together, the balloon world is weird, you only know if you know and we all know! Anyway kit was unloaded, tables were moved, balloons were sorted, memorial balloons were prepped, branch frames were made, measured, bent, tested, re-tested, cable tied, re-measured, wrapped with tape and finally wrapped with balloons.

Although the tree is now built, the fundraising challenge continues, and targets need to be met.

🎈 Show pride in our industry and the impact it can have

The tree is built but the fundraising journey isn’t finished.

Here’s how you can help:

2️⃣ Screenshot this post and share it to your story or feed
3️⃣ Tag 3 friends who would swap the spend too

Let’s keep the chain going and finish what we started together 🤍🎄

From computer design to real-life build ✨

During project, we were challenged to design and create our own balloon representation of a charity logo. I was lucky enough to be given two incredible charities - , who support families affected by murder, and which is a children’s hospice. These are just 2 of the 10 amazing charities this project is raising money for.

While the tree is on display, the fundraising continues - but we’re still a long way from our target and we really need your help 🙏🏻
Donations start from just £2.50 and it’s quick and easy to donate via the website: www.theballoonchristmastree.com
