I never want you to have to wonder if you're welcome here.

I never want you to feel nervous about reaching out, explaining your relationship, your identity, your family or what your wedding might look like.

I want you to know, before we've even said hello, that you can show up as your whole, beautiful, unapologetic self.

Because I don't just want to be a wedding supplier who welcomes everyone. I want to be one who makes everyone feel like they belong.

Your best friend deserves to be part of the moment, not shaking behind a microphone doing your wedding ceremony ✨

There. I said it.

And before anyone gets offended, let’s talk about it.

Your sister loves you. Your best mate knows your story. Your dad would do absolutely anything for you.

But can they actually deliver a wedding ceremony?

Can they write a compelling script that captures your relationship? Hold a room full of people? Manage the nerves, the emotions, the unexpected interruptions and the awkward silences?

Can they create a ceremony that makes your guests laugh, cry and remember exactly why they came?

Because standing at the front with a microphone and a few heartfelt words is one thing.

Holding the most emotionally significant part of someone's wedding day is another.

And here's the bit people don't always want to hear…

Your wedding ceremony is NOT the place to give someone a job they aren't trained to do simply because they're important to you.

You wouldn't ask your best mate to photograph your wedding just because they've got a nice camera. You wouldn't ask your cousin to cater for 100 guests just because they make a cracking Sunday roast.

So why are we still treating the ceremony like anyone can do it?

Your loved ones should be wiping away happy tears, laughing at the stories and soaking up every second NOT worrying about forgetting their lines, stumbling over your vows or wondering what the hell comes next.

Love makes someone special to you. It doesn't automatically make them skilled at their job.

Hire a trained celebrant. Give your wedding ceremony the care, creativity and professionalism it deserves.

Let your family be family. Let your friends be friends.
And let someone who knows what they're doing tell your love story.

Wedding traditions I’d light on fire 🔥 — Being “given away” || 🤯

Why are we still pretending a grown adult needs to be given away?

Given away from who?
Given to whom?

And why does the language still sound like ownership?

I love the sentiment behind walking down the aisle. But I’m not a possession being transferred from one man to another.
You can honour your family without pretending they’re handing you over.

Some traditions deserve to be questioned — not just repeated because “that’s how it’s always been done"

Flip the script. Dare to do it differently!

No bridesmaids. No groomsmen. No wedding party || ✨

There I said it...

Because apparently getting married means you’re supposed to pick your favourite people, give them matching outfits, organise their schedules, pay for things, manage group chats… and somehow keep everyone happy.

No you absolutely don't...

No choosing who makes the cut.
No matching outfits.
No awkward conversations about who didn’t get asked.

If a formal wedding party is a no, then don't have one. It's as simple as that. It doesn't make your wedding day any less official or special.
