We Had lots of Fun on Sunday Cooking for Family using our brand new Kadai Fire pits. We cooked a simple menu of Slow fired Belly Pork & Beef Rump over 5 hours on the Asado Cross with Sweetheart Cabbage, Apple & Carrot slaw and Buttered Herby New Potatoes to finish.

I wanted to see how the Kadai performed and Blimey!! It was incredible!

So, we did a thing!!!

We made our annual pilgrimage to the amazing Rock Oyster Festival and boy, it didn't disappoint! It was fantastic!!! 😍

Just like the amazing music, small bands and headlines alike, the food scene was outstanding. We saw demos from Marco Pierre White, Mark Hix, Candice Brown, DJ BBQ, the Aussie smoker, Jane Baxter & Nathan Outlaw to name a few. 🔪🔪🧑‍🍳🧑‍🍳

The guys from Kadai had their showstopping BBQ pits in the Fire Kitchen 🔥🔥 with top chefs doing their thing. They showed us just how versatile these bits of kit can be and created some delicious dishes using fire and smoke only.

Anyways, to cut a long story short, we now have Kadai grills as part of out kit!!! 😎💪

We get asked a lot if we cater for smaller groups using the swing grill and this will allow us to do so in style. Parties from 10 to 45 using the same theater, smoke and fire. We've had a lot of fun writing new menus for this BRAND NEW SERVICE 🔥🔥

In short, we are completely self-sufficient! 💪💪💪

We set up our 3m x 3m (or 3m x 6m) outside service kitchen in about 1.5 hours and we have everything we need. The only power needed is for our lights and our leisure battery takes care of that.

We like to be as hassle free as possible but always like to be on full show. So we sneak in way before guests arrive and get cooking to get the taste buds going.😎

How long does food service last,?
When everyone has been well fed!!

Your Wedding Breakfast will be run like clockwork as we call and clear tables to keep everything running smoothly. We are capable of serving 120 guests in just 45 minutes without rush or fuss. 🍽️🍽️

Evening food service is a bit more laid back. Once announced, guests come up for their delicious delights as and when they like,
Generally a 2 hour service is perfect but we always go with the flow. 🌭🌮🌯

We need your help! 🙏

We're transforming a small shipping container (10ft x 8ft) into a brand new mobile kitchen for Frisky Pheasant — see the before and after pictures below 👇

The problem is, we don't have anywhere to keep it while we do the work. We're looking for a small patch of land, driveway, yard, or bit of spare ground — anywhere flat and accessible — where it could sit safely for a few months while we convert it.

If you, or anyone you know, has a space tucked away in North Devon, close to High Bickington if possible that might work, we'd really appreciate you getting in touch.
