Another exciting meeting at Monocle ☕ and some big news to share alongside it...
Happy Doodles now has its own corner of the internet! ✏️Link in bio 💻
Happy Doodles is a creative wellbeing method I’ve developed from lived experience, as a mum who used doodling to get through postpartum psychosis, bipolar disorder, and neurodivergence, strengthening my bond with my daughter doodling alongside me. It started at my kitchen table with us side by side, it’s now being piloted in Hull primary schools 🌟
The idea is simple: doodling first, talking later.
No art experience needed. No clinical referral. No right or wrong way to do it. Just paper, something to doodle with, and permission.
It can work across ages and settings, children in schools, home-educated kids, adults on long waiting lists for support, or in the community, elderly residents in care homes, perinatal mothers, neurodivergent people, community groups. Wherever people are struggling to put feelings into words, or simply seeking connection, Happy Doodles can help. ✏️
I’m currently exploring setting up as a CIC, preparing a National Lottery application, and beginning to connect with schools, universities and cultural education partners.
If any of that sounds like it overlaps with your work, or if you’re interested in being a pilot partnership I’d love to hear from you. 💛
