First time for everything. Never hit the big one on a refill before. Hammered every which way, yet folk still come with the “whats the best you can do” on a £25 record. I have to drive for 7 hours on Monday to get a potential collection (thats just to view it) so everyone just chill with the carboot mentality yeah. 👍 😆

Packing light a week early for a Canadian 🇨🇦 rollout. ✈️ 😅 Any vinyl based hints or tips appreciated! If anyone wants to do trade, sell a bunch of stuff or just say hello. I’ll be in Toronto for at least 7-8 days and another week or so again on the road somewhere else as will hire a car - Montreal looks most likely but open to suggestions if commercially sensible. I can bring marginally interesting UK 🇬🇧 things if shops/dealers have appetite. Hoping to land a few interesting bits for us over at Pressing Matters Record Shop 🤞🎶🤩

Early doors Sunday solo slowness out St Leonards way…Took a morning stroll out and about to make the best of the ☀️. Had one of the finer brekkies I’ve had out here in a place (ashamedly) that I hadn’t stepped foot in the 4 years I’ve been here. Shouts out to the Kino-Teatr • St Leonards for setting up the entire day food wise! Must check out the cinema there in due course too. The main event was to check out the new go to clothes spot in town and got fully sorted out by Carter the unstoppable vintage machine in his brand new shop space on Kings rd. All manner of excellently curated, across the board pieces. I ticked my 90s hiphop box with a lightweight Tommy Hilfiger jacket (enough room for another coat?). At £30? Absolutely all day. Go peep his technique over at Carter's Vintage Supply and give the man some support. The rest of the day was then spent with Sarah Meredith and all crew dem down at Dark Circles suppin’ on caffeine brews ☕️💫😆

Somethings are simply inevitable. Life, death and records in between. Back to Guernsey 🏝️ for a very short visit under sad circumstances so flipping the time into a more positive situation… with a very last minute DJ shoe-in at one of Guernsey’s finest spots in Fukku (foo-koo) - I have some tunes to play. Join me if you’re out on the town — if you’re quick you may just get a table to enjoy some of the best food available too. ✌️

Asked the question on FB as to what equipment the fellow DJs were using as I needed to get new carts/styli because my ancient Ortofon Q-Berts don’t appear to be contacting properly anymore… ANYWAY lots of responses on it but then thought I’d check the depths of the loft for a quick looksee for a spare cart. Turns out there was a few bits 🤣😅… pimped HD25s headphones and my original ACS custom ear plugs amongst it all. There was a pair of Vestax PDX 2300ii decks floating about in there too 🫣💀 I remember buying Shure 447 styli on carded strips for about £10-12 or so back in 98/2000s. Used to sell them from Sure-Shots website ex vat for £18 from Guernsey. Now the Jico equivalent are about 5 times that.
