This July, a bunch of Legends from my school and our trust will be walking, running, and crawling a hell of a long way to raise money for The Samaritans.

Around 200 teenagers die every year by su***de in the UK.
Su***de remains the leading cause of death in both young people aged 10-24 and men aged under 54 in the UK.
The highest regional rate of su***de in England is in the North East.

Samaritans respond to a call for help every 10 seconds.
Every 90 minutes in the UK, someone dies by su***de.
In 2024, the Samaritans responded to more than 3.3 million calls for help.

£10 could help Samaritans answer a call for help from someone struggling to cope
£25 could help train and support a listening volunteer for a year.
£680 could keep the helpline open for an hour.

This is why we are trying to raise as much money and awareness as we can. If you can help by making a donation, please do. You may end up saving a life.

And if you are struggling, whatever you're going through, a Samaritan will face it with you. They're waiting for your call, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

In a recent ceremony....

After the groom had done his traditional, yet personalised vows, the bride surprised him by scrapping the usual format and whipping out an amazing poem she had personally written for him on their wedding day, her vows to him included.
It was honest.
It was real.
