In case you thought it was just a case of "paint it on some material" remember it needs to be seen from the opposite side of the room, not just when people are stood in front of it. In all (after sketching) you paint the backdrop 2 to 3 times in undercoat then 2 to 3 times in colour to get vivid and even colour tones and UV light reflection.
