Four years ago today, me and max turned up to our first ever gig together with this absolute masterpiece of a set up.
No DJ booth. No lighting. No proper PA. Just a controller balanced on a bike trailer, a laptop and a pair of old Rokit monitors, one of which didn’t even work half the time!
Looking back it was pretty terrible! But this was actually the day we first properly floated the idea of setting something up ourselves
Fast forward four years and it’s crazy to look at where that conversation has taken us
The next photo is one of our first proper little DJ set ups, then keep swiping and you’ll see how things have changed since.
We always knew we could make something good out of MDAV. What I don’t think either of us expected was just how quickly it would grow. Weddings, private parties, corporate events, venue partnerships, our own events and now moving towards becoming a full 360 events management company, covering everything from entertainment and artists through to sound, lighting, production and the full management of an event.
We’re now managing the entertainment for two bars, working with some brilliant venues and brands across Harrogate and beyond, with even more brand partnerships due to come on board later this year!!
This year in particular, the live music side of the business has absolutely flourished. One of the things I’m most proud of is that we’ve been able to give opportunities to some seriously talented singers and musicians, helping a number of them break onto the local scene, get regular gigs and start building their own names. There’s plenty more to come on that side of things too
We’ve still got a massive amount we want to do with MDAV, despite how quickly it’s all moved!
But every now and again it’s good to look back at where it actually began.
Two mates, a bike trailer, 1 and a half Rokits and absolutely no idea quite how quickly that first conversation would turn into what we have today ♥️♥️
