πŸ””Help Us Pick Our New Logo! πŸ””

As part of our rebrand, we have 5 new logo options for Afro Party in the Park β€” and we want YOU to help choose the winner! πŸ‘€πŸ”₯

The designs were created by a very talented young artist from our local community. We’ll be sharing more about them once everything is complete. The winning logo will also be finished with colours and final touches, so this is just the first look! 🎨

πŸͺ˜Sankofa Culture Group πŸͺ˜

We are thrilled to be welcoming the Sankofa Cultural Group originally from the Ashanti Region in Ghana to Goole this Sunday. Find them on the Afro Stage.

Facts about the talking drums and dancers-

The traditional drums and dances of the Ashanti people of Ghana are a vital expression of their cultural identity, used in royal ceremonies, funerals, festivals, and rituals. Dances like Adowa and Kete convey emotion, tell stories, and honor ancestors through symbolic gestures and rhythmic movement. Drumming, especially with talking drums πŸͺ˜ , is deeply spiritual and serves both as communication and celebration. Together, Ashanti drums and dances preserve history, reinforce social unity, and connect the living with the ancestral world.
