Tricia and Marc kindly sent me this lovely photo a friend took of them sweeping together with the broom, before jumping it
💚💚
The focus of their ceremony was the handfasting.
The unity cord was made by a dear friend of their’s, who used colours of symbolic significance to the couple
🎗️🎗️
Tricia and Marc also included a parchment signing element, which created a beautiful keepsake of the ceremony. They presented their mums, who witnessed the signing, each with a rose in thanks
📜📜🥀🥀
Incorporating these elements into their wedding, created a unique, personalised and memorable ceremony, which was a joy to be part of
💚💚

T & M are going to jump the broom together today to delight and surprise their guests & end their handfasting ceremony on a literal high
🧹🧹
The plan is for them to sweep together, to symbolise their working together and sharing all the household tasks. Then, on a countdown of three from the guests, they take a leap of faith together, over the broom and into their common future
🧹🧹
A broom jump is such fun and a really great way to end your ceremony and get the party started

Some pictures of , a stunning venue close to my home, where I led Lucinda and Phil’s vow renewal ceremony on Saturday.

The ceremony took place inside the beautiful, 18th century, Grade II listed, deconsecrated church.

It’s a very special place and, as their recommended celebrant, I’ve had the pleasure and privilege of leading some amazing weddings and even memorial services there.

Spending a week in Malta to visit the family grave. My mum’s ashes are interred here, alongside some of my father’s and sister’s, also an Aunt’s, as well as it being the burial place of another aunt and her husband - two of my mother’s sisters.

We have grandparents and great-aunts buried here, that I know of, however when I enquired at the office, the computer records only go back to 1992, the rest are in dusty ledgers !

I did find out that the plot was purchased by Vincenzo Fiteni on 9th May 1869 and a Maria Carmela Fiteni was buried there on 16th May 1873.

One of my aunts is named as an heir to the grave, which passed to my cousin.

I cannot find a link to the Radmilli family ( my maternal grandmother’s side) and it would also be nice to find out when the headstone was placed there.

I cleared a few straggly weeds and placed a little bunch of artificial flowers there - to cheer it up and checked out all the neighbours

I can’t say I want to go there myself, it was 40* yesterday and the cicadas are very loud !!

My kids are under instruction to take some of my ashes and place it in a pot in 😬

If Brian and I walk past a cemetery, no matter where we are, if the sign says ‘ Commonwealth Graves’ we always go in, find them, and remember.

Whilst in there, we found that the Duch for rest, is rust. We thought that ‘Rust in Peace’ was rather lovely for a tombstone 🪦

On a little road trip to see Neil Young.

Stopped in Ghent on the way to see the monumental, Ghent Altarpiece, by Jan and Hubert van Eyck , completed 1432.

These pics are a close up of the doners Joos Vijd and his wife, Elizabeth Borluut and the Adoration of the Mystic Lamb, the central panel.

Hi Everyone, as those of you who are my personal FB friends will know, in May my FB account was hacked and inappropriate messages were sent to all my friends.

Someone, ( not mentioning any names 🥸) complained to FB twice about me and now my personal account has been blocked - this means I can only access my FB business pages, Study English One to One in England and my celebrant page by posting on Instagram as they are linked. I actually cannot see them and look at my pages from Brian’s phone.

Unsure what to do. I have a lot of very special friends from back in the day and will feel quite sad if I lose contact with everyone, not to mention loosing work by not being able to respond to new enquiries

It’s impossible to contact anyone regarding the situation.

This is my number as it will be easier if you text or WhatsApp me. 07530570943

Seven Top Reasons to have a Vow Renewal Ceremony
💙💙
Reason 2
Ability to stay strong after a difficult time.
💙💙
Life is certainly like a box of chocolates. When we marry, we embark on life together, not knowing what the future holds.
💙💙
Renewal of vows ceremonies are often for couples who have experienced some difficult or tragic times during their marriage. Maybe one person has had to rely more heavily on the other. Or they have had to pull really hard together to get through some extremely challenging circumstances.
💙💙
These vow renewal ceremonies are a wonderful celebration of the strength of a couple. A reaffirming of the commitment of their marriage vows. So, they are often the most joyous, fun filled occasions, full of laughter and happiness.
💙💙
A lovely lady, Deirdre, chose to renew her vows to say a big, public thank you to her husband, Roger. A thank you for sticking around when, in her words, ‘some men would have run a mile’.
💙💙
As a couple, they also wanted to give a big thank you to all their friends and family for the time, love, kindness and support they’d received over the years.
💙💙
Their Vow Renewal Ceremony was a wonderful celebration and I was asked to stay after the ceremony and get the toasts and speeches going, which was great fun!!
💙💙

The Somerset Celebrant

Hi, I’m Carol, an experienced and professional independent celebrant based in Somerset. I deliver unique, personalised and meaningful ceremonies for those special occasions in life, throughout the Southwest, the UK and abroad. And, I’m really passionate about weddings !!

Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life. It should be incredibly special and memorable. As your relationship is unique, so your wedding ceremony should reflect your relationship in all its aspects.

Using a celebrant means that you are not bound by tradition and you are free to let your imagination inspire you.

It gives you the freedom to choose your own special place for your ceremony. Farms, castles, beaches, gardens, barns, meadows, stately homes, hotels, tipis, seaside piers, forests and hills - take your pick !
