A big change in our household this week... My little boy is now officially a school boy! ๐ซ๐
And I kinda feel like we've finally 'made it' because my little girl is also switching to term-time hours at nursery, which means our childcare bill is officially ZERO! ๐๐
So what does that mean for Sweet & Fair?
From next week, I'll have four school days a week to get my work done in peace, which gives me a bit more consistency. BUT it also means I won't have childcare outside of term time.
So Iโll probably only be taking on orders during school term time from now on, so that I can keep the school holidays for family time ๐จโ๐ฉโ๐งโ๐ฆโค๏ธ
However, I havenโt quite decided if my new rule will apply to the whole of next summer (apparently the summer holidays in 2027 are SEVEN weeks long?! ๐). I'm not sure I can afford to take that long off, plus summer is peak wedding season and dessert tables are one of my favourite things to create!
So I'll probably still take on a few events, but I might have to be a little more selective โ๏ธ๐ฐ
Being self-employed definitely comes with its challenges, but I absolutely love the flexibility it gives me and the fact that I can fit work around my family life ๐ฅฐ
Here's to a new chapter for our little family - and hopefully a slightly more predictable one for Sweet & Fair too! โจ
