Hello 2024 & a happy new year for you all. It’s been a long break while I found my feet in gorgeous Cheshire, but now I feel inspired and ready to move forward with floral design and wedding/event work. There are some exciting projects in the pipeline, and I’d love to meet with more new couples who are planning their big day for this year. ~ANNOUNCEMENT~
I’ve made the personal decision to relocate Petal & Leaf to Cheshire! It’s not been an easy decision to make; and I have loved every second of working with many amazing customers, good friends to myself and the business, and to incredible locally owned businesses. Thank you to everyone for all your support, well wishes and admiration of the cutting garden. I’m so excited for the next chapter in Cheshire and have started building links with the local flower growing network out there.

I’ll be at the studio for another week, working on two more weddings. If you need your flower fix, drop by and browse, or give me a call or message.

Things are shifting slightly at Petal & Leaf HQ in Abergavenny for the next few weeks, and you may not see me based at the studio so often.

I’m going to take some time out to work on future plans & some exciting new projects, source new British growers via Flowers from the Farm, and of course, work alongside the fantastic couples who came to me for their wedding flowers and decorations.

I’ve been keeping my head down and working long days in the garden these last two weeks so that the newly transferred plants would be happy when I step into a busy few weeks of wedding and tribute flowers. The studio is open but I may be based elsewhere most days - you can always call or message for any flower relayed queries!

Here are a few snapshots of arrangements for a wonderful hotel in Abergavenny. The majority of flowers and foliage are grown in the surrounding ever, and the hotel team all love and cherish a natural and wild style of floristry.

Happy Mother’s Day everyone

I hope all your wonderful ladies enjoy their bouquets as much as I enjoyed making each one. It still amazes me that every bouquet really is as unique and gorgeous as the person it’s being made for.

Give lots of hugs, squeezes and throw the love around like gold dust! We all know there’s nobody quite like a Mum. I’ll be placing my last three tulips down at a special place today.

There’s still time to pre-order a bouquet for Mother’s Day, before the order book closes on Friday 17th. There will be elegant and subtle pastels, as well as bright flashes of colour. You can expect anenomes, narcissi, tanacetum, ranunculus and the most incredible tulips (I can’t rate them enough). These are all British grown flowers, so if you are becoming more conscious about where your purchases originate, this will be the best gift you could give.

Celebrating this day more than ever - OK, I don’t have a team working directly with me; it doesn’t mean I don’t see the hard graft, spirit, determination, creativity kindness and support that women demonstrate every day. Not to mention a true commitment to rebalancing the planet to a safer and greener future.

I have the luxury of balancing work between two aspects: running a small floristry studio as well as establishing a small cut flower patch alongside. The weeks before a busy Mother’s Day and decent weather mean I can embrace my time in the garden now. My brain has been ticking about with colour schemes for 2023 and the verdict is… a lot of jewel tones, with calming whites and subtle pastels for balance. I’m digging textures of grasses too, so will be extending my range and knowledge of these. Herbs as well for fragrance and their uniqueness in my bouquets.

Now the real fun can begin… here’s to a happy 2023 in our gardens!

**MOTHER’S DAY 2023**

We are now taking pre-orders (and pre-orders only) for Mother’s Day bouquets, vase arrangements, or hatbox designs. If your mother or mother figure has an existing, beloved vase, you can bring it along to the studio and I’ll create something lovely for the special day. You can expect the créme de la créme of our British spring flowers, foliage and blossom. Spring flowers compliment Mother’s Day so beautifully!
