There is a marked rise in couples seeking vow renewals.

Often people choose to do this when they reach a milestone anniversary, say 10, 20 or 25 years of married life. But increasingly couples are using a vow renewal ceremony earlier in married life. Maybe they have been through some relationship issues and want to recommit to each other in an intentional and public way. Or maybe they now have children, or a blended family, and want to renew their vows within a family ceremony that celebrates their children too? Their ceremony could also be combined with a naming ceremony for their children.

Whatever the reason, I love to help couples create a unique and intentional ceremony that celebrates them, their love for each other and their on-going commitment to their relationship. I specialise in beautiful, inclusive and participatory ceremonies so am especially open to creating something for blended families and alternative relationship structures.

Do get in touch with me if you would like to discuss any type of ceremony!

Another lovely testimonial. I created and led her mum’s celebration of life last month. We all wore touches of blue as it was her favourite colour. And she had also chosen her entrance and exit music which made the choices easier for her family.

This week is Dying Matters week - a prompt to have those conversations with family members about what you would like to happen at the end of your life, and after your death. Your family will find it so helpful to know your wishes in advance - and while it may feel difficult, know that you are giving them a wonderful gift that will ease the stress that not knowing brings.

I offer a funeral planning service that can be done in person or online, just send me a DM if you’d like to set it up.

My first time doing an ‘about me’ video. I ended up talking for too long and didn’t even get onto how I work with people! Will have to save that for another video (if I get over the embarrassment of doing this first one!)

Congratulations Susie and Tony!

The sun was indeed shining on Saturday for their ‘Union of hearts’ ceremony opposite the sea The Lansdowne Hotel.

It was an absolute joy to work with them on a really unique ceremony where every ritual had been chosen to reflect their journeys before they met and illustrate how the day was a new beginning for them both.

And their epic love story was so much fun to write - and tell on the day (to a lot of laughter and some ad hoc audience additions!)

The couple were so kind and generous to me, ensuring that I pre-ordered lunch the day before so I wouldn’t have a rumbly tum during the ceremony, and asking their florist to make me a beautiful wrist corsage to wear.

Special shout out to fellow celebrant who lent me her bell-shaped gong to use to cleanse the ceremony space before the vows. It worked a treat!

It’s a full circle moment for me next week! Back in 2013, while working at Design Council, I launched the Future Pioneers at New Designers (an initiative to identify, celebrate, and nurture young, principled, and purpose-driven designers). The event was held at the Business Design Centre in Islington.

Fast forward to 2026 and I will be back at the Business Design Centre with my own stand as an exhibitor at The London Wedding Show which takes place on 28–29 March!

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed designing my stand - with stylistic help from Kate McPhee - and look forward to chatting all things ‘celebranty’ and ‘ceremony’ with the couples visiting the show.

I remember trade shows being a killer on the feet so I will be wearing my yellow trainers.

If you are planning a wedding in the next year or two then I have some complimentary tickets to the show so send me a DM and I can send you a code and booking link.

Nothing beats hearing how a ceremony felt for the couple at the heart of it. Here is a wonderful review from a recent wedding couple that I had the joy of working with.

Carl and Maxine’s December wedding at Woldingham Golf Club was a beautiful fusion of Jamaican and Celtic traditions, thoughtfully woven into a ceremony that was romantic, light-hearted and deeply personal. From creating a Jamaican rum punch and sharing it from a Scottish quaich, to a Celtic handfasting during their vows, every ritual reflected who they are and where they come from.

Add in a saxophonist who provided a wonderful soundtrack for the day and guests actively taking part in meaningful moments, and it all resulted in a ceremony filled with laughter and love.

What a joy to be a part of!
