Do you have a skill, hobby or creative passion you’d love to share with others? 🎨✨

It doesn’t matter if you’ve never run a workshop before. It could be something you’ve been doing for years, or something you’ve learned recently and would love to pass on.

These sessions are run by the community, for the community, and support is available to help you get started.

If you’ve ever thought, “I’d love to share that with others,” this could be the perfect opportunity.

NEWS: Thank you to community after strong turnout at Kirkcaldy drop-in events

Nearly 300 people came along to Fife Council’s drop-in events on Thursday 28 May to find out more about plans for Kirkcaldy’s town centre and waterfront, and to share their views.

Held at the Town House, the events brought together local people, community groups and project teams working on the next stage of the town’s transformation. There was a real buzz throughout the day, with plenty of passion, ideas and thoughtful questions about the future of Kirkcaldy.

The sessions were part of ongoing work to develop a long-term plan for the town centre and waterfront, alongside a number of projects already underway – including a new flexible community building, development opportunities across the town centre, a green space strategy, and new housing at the former Postings site.

People who attended were able to:

Find out more about how plans are developing

See how earlier feedback is being taken into account

Speak directly to the teams involved
Share their own ideas and priorities

Councillor Ian Cameron, Convener of the Kirkcaldy Area Committee, said:

“Thank you to everyone who came along and took the time to speak with us. There was a real energy in the room, and it was clear how much people care about Kirkcaldy and its future.

“We’re still developing the long-term plan, and feedback like this is an important part of that. People asked thoughtful questions, shared ideas and challenged us in a constructive way – all of which will help shape what happens next.

“This is just one step in an ongoing conversation, and we’re keen to hear from as many people as possible as the work continues.”

For those who couldn’t attend, information about the plans, and the chance to have your say are available online via the link in comments.

The deadline to take part is Friday 5 June.

Another two drop-in sessions are planned for Tuesday 23 June and Tuesday 25 August. More information will be published about these soon.
