Colin Hunter Photography

Colin Hunter Photography From a small family gathering to a larger corporate event, the memory and importance of a photograph lasts a life time. A smile helps too. Smile.

It does not hurt to contact me and talk about what you want. I like taking photographs and have done so from a very early age. Now that I have a bit more time on my hands I decided to dedicate it to taking more photographs and trying to improve on what I do. I found that people wanting a single photo of granny to put in a frame for a present, to a proud farmer with his best tractor were out there,

but just did not have the camera / time or know how to get the shot they wanted. I have photographed many events that have been private affairs, where the clients want a record of their day but don't want to openly share it with the world. Discretion and loyalty goes without question, hence my "open" portfolio being rather sparce. Same sex marriages and funerals are two such examples where privacy has been sought
and ,as requested, honoured. Anyone can point a camera at a subject but each photographer strives to make that shot their best. I am still learning and will continue to do so till the day I stop taking photos but until then let me try to get you just what you want.

It's the simple things. Whilst having my morning coffee the sun appeared and as it bounced off the water in the bird bath, outside my back door, the reflection shone straight onto the centre of my framed print of Juliet. I really liked that. Simple.

Sometimes it's not what you put in a photo, it's what you take out. This memorial is in Grangemouth (surrounded by housing and industrial units), but tweak it and its flying free.

Its been a busy old time with Covid and other time consuming distractions but the other day whilst tearing down an old wooden fence I saw this ivy clinging onto the surface and just loved the look, so I photographed it. Simple, I know, but as they say, beauty is in the eye....etc.

Last Friday, just before Autumn made its annual appearance I shot up to Poolewe on my motorbike for one last "summer" run. As always , I took my camera. This is an old, very old bothy / cattle barn just off the A835 about 1 mile east of the Braemore junction. It was cloudy so I waited till a small amount of sun made its way to me. First photo is with an oil effect, second as was. I like them both.
