KEEP CALM AND CARRY A BROLLY ☂️

One thing to keep in mind when planning your wedding and visiting venues is always, always, ALWAYS have a wet weather contingency. I know you have your heart set on the outside ceremony but we need to talk about one of the unavoidable aspects of living in the UK, the rain. Believe me, there is nothing more anxiety inducing than obsessively checking BBC Weather App or MET office every 5 minutes, so a plan B is absolutely always necessary.

When looking at venues, chat to the team about what their contingency is as they will likely have a tried and tested system. However, please make sure that you’re happy with that potential outcome.

For the DIY’ers out there, the same goes for you – when booking the venue, I would recommend checking that there is an empty space that people can pile into can be used in the very worst case.

Alex and Leanne [pictured] had a spell of rain come in during their ceremony, although it didn’t dampen things at all. They had a great celebrant that kept everyone entertained, brought everyone inside when it got too rainy and just when we found a spot to continue the ceremony inside, the rain stopped and back out we went. ✨

And if all of the above fails, I hear there’s a certain old wives tail about burying a sausage the night before. Your call.

✨ Hi, I’m Lydia — founder of Hayati Events ✨

I thought a good place to start, would be telling you a little bit about myself. I’ve spent 15 years working across the events industry: planning, coordination, reservations, food service, and even jumping behind the bar when needed! That’s where my love for hospitality began, and why I believe every detail matters — while still leaving room for the fun, spontaneous moments.

I plan weddings of all shapes and sizes: from grand, formal celebrations to quirky DIY or relaxed gatherings. As you can see from my huge grin (and trusty clipboard) this isn’t just a job, it’s a passion. I personally invest in every couple I work with, guiding you every step of the way alongside my incredible, highly experienced team.

I’ve also worked with amazing clients including the BBC, The King’s Fund, Universities of Exeter & Bristol, Hyundai, The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Festival, and leading beauty brands — creating gala dinners, festivals, corporate events, product launches, big birthday’s and more.

I’m a natural-born problem solver, which is why I love adding those personal touches that make each event feel truly unique.
