And finally… it wasn’t just the bands that made it our best festival yet. Lu, Jo and the team worked so hard to get all of it together with the help of Etwall Primary PTFA and Etwall Cricket Club. We had some wonderful volunteers this year too, as well as some fantastic stall holders. And then there’s you lot! What a lovely bunch you all are! So thank each and every one of you. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did! Please tag yourself if you’re in the pics (or ask me to remove if you don’t like what you see! 😊). Hope to see you all next year!!!

Well, we’ve had time to let the dust settle, on what was probably the best Etwall Family Music Festival EVER!! With weather reports being what they were, we were expecting a very damp day indeed, but as often happens, the grey clouds and downpours skipped around the outside of our field, and the sun shone. Let’s say that it was down to the positivity of the crowd and and the beautiful musical vibes from our incredible bands! From the opening song from the Etwall Primary School Choir to the end of The In-Here Brothers rave, each and every artist gave their all and captivated the audience. Andy Dingwall, Raindogs, SJ Newman, Billy O'Dakins and Electric Pets blew us away with wonderful covers and bostin’ originals. We can’t thank them enough, and hope we’ll have them all back someday. (Apologies to SJ Newman. I didn’t get any photos as my daughter ran off with my phone to take pics of the stalls!)

And finally…

Raindogs are a talented and experienced band based in derby, east midlands. they have played numerous gigs, always deliver a high-quality performance and have established themselves as a popular band on the local music scene.
they have a unique sound that sets them apart from other bands. "we are deeply passionate about music and enjoy creating our own material as well as reimagining other people's songs". their live performances are always energetic and engaging.
the raindogs positive reputation has made them a sought-after band for festivals, concerts, and they are highly recommended by promoters. We’re so happy to welcome them back for their third appearance at our little festival.

Let’s meet our penultimate artist…

SJ Newman is a Mancunian singer songwriter, based in Derby.
Her alt-folk songs reveal a rich inner world with intimate outpourings of devastation and connection.
When she moved to Derby in the mid 90s she set herself a goal to play in a band with members of legendary local band Cable, and during lockdown, that goal was acheived, forming GodNo! with their bass player Peter Darrington (now a member of Electric Pets). She’s long been a popular and active member of the Derby DIY scene under many guises and with various bands. Currently also performing with Derby band Grawlix and Nottingham’s ACHB (Alex and the Christopher Hale Band).

It’s this Sunday!! For those of you travelling from Derby or Burton way, you can catch The Villager bus, which stops just a 2 minute walk away from the festival. It runs pretty regularly on a Sunday, times below.
