Stephanie and Seoras had a wonderful wedding day at The Scotsman Hotel in Edinburgh, and it was a genuine pleasure to be part of it.

The Scotsman is a beautiful venue with real character, and weddings there always have a special atmosphere. My role on the day was to add something a little unexpected, moving through the guests during the drinks reception, keeping the energy warm and the smiles coming while the couple had their photographs taken. Close-up magic has a way of bringing people together, sparking conversations between guests who have only just met and creating those small, memorable moments that stay with people long after the day is done.

Every wedding is different, and that is what makes this work so rewarding after all these years. Getting the read right on a room, knowing when to step in and when to hold back, that is where experience really counts.

Performing at Gleneagles is always a privilege, and last night was no exception.

A corporate dinner for one of the UK's leading mobile phone companies gave me the opportunity to do what I enjoy most: getting close to people, starting conversations through magic, and creating moments that feel genuinely surprising rather than staged. The crowd were brilliant, warm and fully up for it, which always brings the best out of an evening like this.

Corporate events are where close-up magic really earns its place. Guests arrive from different departments, different regions, sometimes different countries. The early part of the evening can feel a little formal. Magic has a way of cutting through that. A few minutes at a table and people are laughing, talking and properly relaxed. The rest of the night tends to look after itself.

Gleneagles is a remarkable setting. It has that quality that the very best venues share: it makes guests feel that the evening matters. Performing there, for many years now, is something I genuinely appreciate.

Killochan Castle is a special venue, and last night it delivered exactly the kind of evening that reminds me why I love this work.

A wonderful group visiting from Canada, a beautiful South Ayrshire setting, and a team of staff who looked after me so well throughout the night. When the hospitality is that warm, it feeds into the performance. Everything just flows.

Close-up magic works beautifully in a venue like Killochan. The intimacy of the rooms, the atmosphere, the sense of occasion. Guests are already in a receptive mood, and when you place something genuinely puzzling right in front of them, the reactions are something to behold.
