An Official Statement from Wee Play House 💙
We have become aware of a social media post circulating about a recent party booking at our venue. We would like to take this opportunity to share some important context with our community, while continuing to act with the professionalism and care our families deserve.
We want to be clear we take every piece of feedback seriously, and where we fall short of the standard our customers deserve, we own that and we act on it.
*Regarding the party booking*
The booking in question was made and confirmed for a set number of children. On the day, attendance exceeded the agreed number. Our team made every effort to accommodate this graciously, providing food and hospitality to additional guests beyond the original booking.
However, at the end the host left without paying extra for extra number of children.
Our team also followed standard and legally required procedures around recording guest attendance. These procedures exist for the safety of every child on our premises and are applied consistently across all bookings without exception.
When our team explained these requirements, the situation became difficult to manage. We made every effort to de-escalate calmly and professionally, and later extended an invitation to meet with our management team to address all concerns properly.
*Regarding the cordoned area*
Any area of our play frame that is closed at any time is closed for one reason only the safety of children. We carry out four professional safety inspections per year, significantly exceeding the single annual inspection required by law. Our most recent inspection in December 2025 confirmed all areas as safe and satisfactory. When our daily in-house checks identify even a minor concern, we close that activity immediately until it has been independently assessed and cleared. This is not negligence. This is responsible practice.
*Regarding food safety*
Following a complaint made to the council, Environmental Health Officers attended our premises and carried out a full inspection of our kitchen and food preparation standards. We are pleased to confirm that our kitchen passed all checks and was marked as fully safe and satisfactory. We welcome scrutiny of this kind and are proud to have met that standard.
*Regarding the subsequent visit to our premises*
When the customer attended our venue the following day, the situation unfortunately escalated in a way that affected both our staff and other families present. Out of duty of care to everyone on the premises, we took the necessary steps to manage the situation appropriately. We will not go into further detail out of respect for all parties involved.
*Regarding the party room walls*
Each party that is hosted in the party rooms, our guests tend to being their own party decorations. For this the decor is taped on to the walls which causes the paint to come off the walls, which gets painted always after a couple of months. The guest in question also brought along her own decorations which was also stuck onto the walls with cellotape.
*Our commitment to our community*
We genuinely value every family who walks through our doors and we never take that trust for granted. We understand that social media can move quickly and that one-sided accounts can travel far before the full picture emerges. We have chosen to share our perspective not to argue, but because our team, our staff, and the many families who visit us regularly deserve to know the truth.
We remain open to resolving concerns through appropriate and respectful channels and we will always prioritise the safety, wellbeing, and happiness of the children and families in our care.
Thank you for your continued support. 💙
