🏚️ THE HISTORY

Originally known as Fishburn Welfare Hall, the building dates back to 1928 and has been part of the local community for almost a century.

The hall became an important meeting place for the people of Fishburn, a village with a long history closely connected to the area’s mining community.

Imagine the generations of people who have passed through these doors over the decades — but could some of them have never truly left? 👀

👻 THE GHOST STORIES

There have been reports of some very strange occurrences within the building…

👤 Dark shadow figures have reportedly been witnessed moving through the building.

🪑 Objects are said to move without any obvious explanation.

🧒 Perhaps most intriguing are reports associated with playful children, raising the question of whether younger spirits could still be making their presence known.

💥 Loud unexplained bangs and tapping sounds have also reportedly been heard throughout the building.

Are these simply the noises of an old community hall… or evidence that something remains behind after everyone else has gone home? 👻

On Saturday 6th February, we’ll be turning down the lights, setting up our paranormal equipment and attempting to find out for ourselves.

Last night, the team attended an investigation hosted by the incredible Havelock Hauntings and the one and only Vincent Usher.

Why?

Because apparently we’re completely incapable of staying away from places where we’re actively disliked. 👀👻

What started as a casual investigation between friends quickly turned into an absolute whirlwind of chaos.

Tables lifted off the floor. Five separate pieces of equipment activated at the same time. A mirror flew off the wall. Mirror scrying left one team member physically sick.

This has got to be one of the most terrifying venues in the North East.

I left that building genuinely shaken and seriously questioning whether it was time to retire from paranormal investigating. 😅

What a night!

🏛️ THE HISTORY

Ryton Masonic Hall dates back to the late 1800s and has served as a place of gathering, tradition and brotherhood for well over a century.

During World War I, the hall was used to support local soldiers and the surrounding community.

Generations of members and visitors have walked through its doors over the years — and according to reports, the building may still hold echoes of some of those who came before. 👀

👻 THE GHOST STORIES

There have been numerous reports of unexplained activity within the hall…

👤 Shadow figures have reportedly been spotted inside the ceremony room when nobody else is present.

👣 The sounds of unexplained footsteps and whispers are said to travel through corridors and otherwise empty rooms.

🚪 Doors have reportedly opened and closed by themselves, including doors believed to have been locked.

👀 Visitors have described an unnerving feeling of being watched, particularly around the lodge room.

🎙️ Paranormal investigators have also reportedly captured unexplained voices and EVPs within the building.

With more than a century of history contained within these walls, the question is…

Who — or what — might answer us when we call out in the darkness? 👻

We’ll be investigating the building using a variety of paranormal techniques and equipment as we attempt to uncover what may be lurking within Ryton Masonic Hall.

🏥 SCAFFOLD HILL HOSPITAL — THE HISTORY

Originally built in the early 1900s as an isolation hospital for infectious diseases, Scaffold Hill later became a general hospital before eventually closing in the late 1990s.

Since its closure, the site has developed an eerie reputation, with its history and atmosphere giving rise to numerous stories of unexplained activity.

Long, empty corridors and rooms that once accommodated patients now provide the setting for our investigation.

But when the building falls silent… are those corridors really empty? 👀

👻 THE HOSPITAL’S GHOST STORIES

👣 Footsteps, whispers and unexplained voices are said to echo through the empty corridors.

🚪 Visitors have reported doors apparently opening and closing by themselves, while lights have allegedly flickered without explanation.

👤 Shadowy figures have reportedly been seen through windows and moving through the halls.

🥶 Sudden cold spots and unexplained temperature drops have also been experienced throughout the building.

🌲 THE WITCHES CIRCLE

A short distance from the hospital lies the mysterious location locally referred to as the Witches Circle.

Stories surrounding the site claim that the circle has connections to rituals and pagan ceremonies, adding another layer of mystery to an already unusual location.

Whether those stories are history, folklore or something in between, we’ll be heading into the darkness to investigate for ourselves. 🌙

🧙‍♀️ THE WITCHES CIRCLE GHOST STORIES

👀 Visitors have described a powerful feeling of being watched while near the circle.

🗣️ Disembodied voices and whispers have reportedly been heard, particularly after nightfall.

👤 Shadowy figures and unexplained anomalies have also been reported around the area.

⚡ Some visitors describe an overwhelming change in atmosphere or energy when stepping inside the circle itself.
