10 years ago today our local community was torn apart as Jo Cox was brutally taken from us by someone filled with hate. In the decade since many in that community have regularly worked together to try to live by her message that we have more in common than that which divides us, but in 2026 it often feels like things have got worse, not better.

Spare a thought today for Jo's family, espeiclly her children, and keep her legacy in mind.

We have two tickets for this fantastic festival tomorrow to give away! Raffle entries are just £5. Entries close at 5pm today!

Winners will be announced by 8pm on Friday 29th May - the prize is two tickets to the Let's Rock Retro Festival at the Accu Stadium on Saturday May 30th.

The line up for the festival includes Marc Almond, Tony Hadley, Matt Goss, Kim Wilde, Nik Kershaw, Nick Heyward, Jason Donovan, Go West, Stereo MC's and Sonia.

All proceeds go towards covering the costs of the Great Giggle Together show at Batley Town Hall on 21st June, and all profits from that show are to be divided equally between Oxfam and YWCA Yorkshire. This show is in celebration of the life of Jo Cox, and her "more in common" message. Tickets for the show are available now priced at £15.
