The main event of this years SVT (Standing Vale Tudo) Knockdown is the 4 Man Open Weight Tournament for the title belt! 🏆

4 martial artists will go head to head and put the might of their style against each other to see who will be victorious!

Open weight competitors are a special breed of martial artist. Ready and willing to take on any opponent of any size.

The larger the tournament the longer the rounds and the more strategy is required to be successful.

Semi finals: 3x2min rounds
Finals: 3x3min rounds.

Unlike traditional knockdown formats the SVT Knockdown is held in a ring and not on the mats. Competitors have to work off of the ropes and corners as opposed to the action being stopped when individuals go off of the mat. This keeps the action constant.

There are also only three judges as opposed to four.

No points, no extra time.

KO, Submission, Stoppage, unanimous or split decision only.

Are you looking for a new challenge?

The SVT knockdown is one of the most open rulesets available in martial arts competition today.

A new challenge awaits!

It’s nearly that time of year again!!!

FOTM 26 is quite literally just around the corner!

It’s a very exciting time for all of us at the UK Shootboxing Association. All of the students and members who train in our styles of martial arts and sports will come together to test out the skills they have been working on all year and will hopefully take home some great memories and experiences!

Remember FOTM 27 is already booked in next year for July 3rd!!!

All coaches/clubs get it in your diary!

We will be featuring matches for both children and adults in the following:

✔️ UKSA Rules Kickboxing
✔️ UK Amateur Shootboxing
✔️ The SVT (Standing Vale Tudo) Knockdown
✔️ UKSA grappling tournament and matches

As always our events are open to all styles and associations.

Made by martial artists for martial arts.

Why Shootboxing? 🤔

UK Shootboxing is growing everyday. More clubs and practitioners are getting involved and introducing it into their classes and training.

UK Shootboxing teaches the following:

✔️ Strikes such as punches, kicks, knees and elbows featured in arts like Muay Thai and full contact karate.
✔️ All throws, takedowns, sweeps, trips and slams featured in arts like judo, jujitsu and wrestling.
✔️ Takedown defence.
✔️ Clinch/close quarters combat skills.
✔️ Catching of kicks and knees.
✔️ Standing submissions such as chokes, arm locks and shoulder locks.

Alongside our syllabus we offer guaranteed events each year for students practicing our styles to compete together and grow in experience.

We also offer title opportunities in our association for students who work hard to achieve them.

Many clubs and styles constantly have to change their style and enter events that restrict the techniques they practice in their art because many events don’t cater for their ruleset.

The UKSA works hard to make sure its members have those opportunities and everything you train in you can use in what will become your events that your club can look forward to.

If you are an instructor who has a black belt in a striking art and a grappling art or who has the relevant experience in arts featuring these skills and you would like to become involved in UK Shootboxing please get in touch.

Instructors are required to complete the black belt grading in person which is 9-6pm on both Saturday and Sunday over the same weekend.

This is free. There is no charge. We will happily help and support you if you truly want to be involved and become a practitioner/instructor of the style. So if you believe UK Shootboxing is a great fit for you, your students and your school come and get involved and help build the future of our art and sport.

Due to a pull out in our 75kg Welterweight UK Shootboxing match a new competitor has stepped in quickly to fill the space.

The match will now be as follows:

Rob Howard vs Alan Baron

Alan usually competes at 65kg but wanted the opportunity and for the match to go ahead so has stepped in to fill the original competitors place.

UK Shootboxing is very thankful to both of these martial artists and we look forward to a fantastic match!
