🐴 A little reminder about lesson payments & no-shows 🐴
Unfortunately, today we had FOUR people not turn up for their booked riding lessons.
At £35 per lesson, that means £140 of lost income in one day — but there’s a much bigger picture behind that figure.
£140 is around what it costs us to feed our horses their hay for an entire week. 🌾🐴
Our horses still need feeding, caring for, trimming/shoeing, insuring and looking after whether somebody turns up for their lesson or not. They are at the heart of everything we do, and the income from your lessons goes directly towards keeping them happy, healthy and cared for. 🩷
There is also another side to a no-show: we have limited lesson availability. When somebody books a space and doesn’t attend, that slot has been held specifically for them and somebody else who wanted a lesson has missed the opportunity to book it.
I do have a policy that lessons are paid for at the point of booking, but because I know and trust many of our customers, I’ve sometimes allowed payment on the day.
Unfortunately, after losing four lesson spaces today, I simply can’t afford to let that policy slip anymore.
So please don’t be offended when, from now on, we ask for full payment at the time of booking to secure your lesson. This will apply to everyone and isn’t personal. 🩷
Of course, I completely understand that genuine emergencies happen and sometimes life throws things at us that we can’t control. This isn’t aimed at anybody who has had to cancel for a genuine reason and contacted us — it’s about protecting a small business from empty spaces and no-shows.
Every lesson you book with us helps us continue doing what we love and, most importantly, helps us provide the very best care for Princess and all her friends. 🦄🐴💕
