✨ We had the most wonderful day recently at beautiful Solton Manor capturing some new content for Wags & Whiskers.

Joining us for the photoshoot were our own pampered pooches, Dennis and Axel, who you will recognise from the various photos and videos we've posted, along with the very handsome Monty, who was the most stunning model for the day. 🐾

Working alongside a fantastic team of local wedding suppliers and one of our recommended venues gave us the perfect opportunity to showcase what a wedding day can look like when your dog is part of the celebration.

Whether they're walking down the aisle, joining you for photographs or simply being there for those special moments, we believe your four-legged family members deserve to be included too.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in bringing the shoot together:
- the wonderfully talented Dover Media Group who very kindly organised the shoot and were the most patient people ever while we dished out treats, squeaky toys and belly rubs to the three furry divas!
- the kindest local pet shop The Pet Food Shop - Walmer who very kindly let us borrow pet supplies for the photoshoot. The pups loved the super comfortable bed by the fireplace and their very fashionable Joules coats!!

But what happens with our dog before the ceremony?” 🐾

This is one of the biggest worries couples have… so here’s exactly how we handle it:

🏡 We collect your dog from home
🌿 Take them for a relaxed walk to burn off energy
🤍 Spend time bonding so they feel calm and comfortable with us

By the time we arrive at your venue…
they’re exercised, settled, and happy (with a treat or two if allowed 😉)

We’ll then:
✔ freshen them up before they enter
✔ add any bandanas, leads or accessories
✔ follow a pre-planned timeline shared with your photographer + coordinator
✔ stay in communication throughout the day

Your dog is always kept safe, on lead unless in a secure space, and cared for by qualified pet first aiders 🐶

We can even arrange grooming with trusted suppliers near your venue if you want them looking extra special ✨

So when the moment comes…
your dog isn’t overwhelmed, overexcited, or unsure.

They’re just happy to be there 🫶

Is hiring a wedding dog chaperone worth it?

Honestly? It depends what kind of wedding day you want.

If you want to relax, enjoy your guests, and not ask a friend, family member or bridesmaid to suddenly become responsible for feeding, walking, settling and supervising your dog… then yes, it can be absolutely worth it.
