What a fantastic day of women’s softball cricket at Deal Vics!

A huge thank you to all four teams for coming along and making the tournament such a great success. A special congratulations to Northdown, who not only won the tournament but also picked up their first ever win in women’s cricket. What a way to start!

A massive thank you to: Folkestone Northdown and Sibton Park for bringing the right spirit, plenty of cricket and lots of fun to the day.

Here’s hoping this is the first of many women’s softball tournaments at Deal Vics!

Another fantastic day at Deal Vics, with plenty of cricket and a little bit of history made!

This afternoon we hosted our U9 Softball Festival, with a brilliant afternoon of cricket, smiles and plenty of enthusiasm from all the young players.

A huge thank you to Chris and the team for all their hard work in putting the festival together, and to Drew for keeping everyone fuelled on the BBQ.

Thank you to Sandwich Town Cricket Club, Sibton Park and Folkestone for joining us and making it such an enjoyable afternoon. Congratulations to Folkestone, who took home the trophy as our overall winners!

Then this evening, we played the inaugural Deal Vics Kids vs Adults Softball match.

18 juniors took on 13 adults and family members in a brilliantly competitive game, with the match finishing in a tie at 104 runs each!

It was exactly the sort of game that Cricket Week is all about: plenty of fun, a few competitive moments, lots of laughs and generations of Vics playing cricket together.

We have a feeling this one might become a permanent fixture in Cricket Weeks for years to come!

Day Two of Cricket Week saw us host our Deal Vics Sixes Tournament — and what a day it was!

Plenty of boundaries, plenty of runs and thoroughly entertaining cricket throughout the day. The perfect format for a brilliant day of cricket, with some fantastic games played in great spirit.

A huge congratulations to our overall winners, Wa-ngdon — the combined Walmer, East Langdon team! A thoroughly deserved victory.

And, as always, a massive thank you to our brilliant supporters who helped make the day what it was.

Margheritas kept everyone fuelled with some fantastic pizzas, while Sportcare were on hand to help massage away all the aches and pains as the day went on!

Another fantastic day of Cricket Week in the books. And there’s still plenty more to come!

A little belated, but what a way to start Cricket Week!

Yesterday saw us kick off the week with a brilliant game against Sandwich Town Cricket Club with Sandwich coming out on top by 19 runs. A great game played in fantastic spirit, and a huge thank you to Sandwich for joining us and helping get the week underway.

The cricket was followed by a packed clubhouse, plenty of food, drinks and some seriously competitive quizzing!

A massive thank you to Neil, Martin and Drew for providing the evening entertainment with the quiz, and a huge thank you to Castle Fish Bar Walmer for supplying the fish and chips for everyone.

It was a brilliant first day and a fantastic way to get Cricket Week rolling.

We will start off next Monday with lunch before our annual match versus Sandwich Town Cricket Club

Then we look forward to a fantastic evening of Quiz and Chips thanks to Castle Fish Bar Walmer and our elegant hosts in Martin and Jacko.

A reminder to ensure you have booked and paid for your food upfront to confirm your place.

We’re delighted to say that we have been successful in receiving a £11,000 grant from the ECB for refurbishments to our clubhouse and will be looking to complete the works this autumn/winter.

We need to raise £3,000 and will be looking at a number of fundraising routes including a JustGiving page.

First up, we’d like to give you the opportunity to support the club and have a chance to win a big cash prize yourself with our Last Man Standing Draw set to be completed during our Cricket Week.
