Happy Valentine’s to all you lovers out there! 💘

For 12 years I spent creating beautiful bouquets for our lovely customers across Dartmoor to be able to gift their loved ones at Valentine’s - late nights, early mornings (that’s if we didn’t work through!), red roses (& thorns!) aplenty, early morning deliveries to lucky ladies (& men) - my own Valentine’s meal usually a rush and met through tired eyes 🫩

It certainly was an experience, and I wouldn’t change it for the world 🫶

But, today Saturday 14th Feb - I sit with a cup of tea, soaking up the cold morning sun, the first we have seen in a very long time, croissants warming in the oven, looking forward to a chilly morning walk with the dogs - Very grateful, that I’m not rushing around and that I am able to enjoy the whole day with my own Valentine.. 💌 🥰

So much love and admiration to ALL the florists out there - creating so much JOY & SPREADING LOVE with flowers today - whether that’s with traditional red roses, or beautiful British grown tulips & narcissi - you’re all doing an amazing job 🫶

Back in the day of me basically running our flower shop from an upstairs bedroom in a large building in the centre of Chagford… we couldn’t afford to keep our original high street shop premises going due to the recession (which we opened in, in 2010!) - and this rather strange set up kept us going for a few years before in 2017 we could afford to rent our final and best premises - 10 High Street, where we stayed for another 5 years serving the people of Chagford with flowers for weddings, funerals, gifts bouquets, indoor & outdoor plants, gifts … 🫶😮‍💨🌸🩶

My evenings and spare time has looked a lot like this lately, beavering away in my little farm studio, getting all my gorgeous wreath orders completed, delivered and hung on your doors in time for the festive celebrations! 🎄

🙏To all my new & booked in wedding couples - THANK YOU - for your incredible patience, my replies these last few weeks have been slow to non existent… this time of year is bonkers with the extra Christmas work & I’m a one woman band over here at Devonshire Rose 💃🏼 (as well as Freelancing in a flower shop & working my Part time gardening job) 😅

💌 I’ve had lots of new wedding enquiries recently for 2026 & 2027, as well as wedding consultations & the usual flow of ‘Wedmin’ - booking fee invoices, on going wedding flower related questions, AND VERY EXCITING new website & branding related emails and admin to get through …. (More on this in the New Year) 🤩🤭🤐

I’ll be working my socks off this week to get back to everyone before Christmas - so please bear with, and check your emails (including junk) as I have a new email address.
